Praktica L repair tips
« on: June 11, 2021, 05:00:32 PM »
I've currently started to try and fix an old Praktica L that has a shutter problem.
When you wind the camera, there is a gap between the first and second shutter which causes the lower shutter to not latch properly.
I now managed to gain access to the shutter but can't seem to find a way to adjust the spacing.
Big question: is there a way to adjust this on that camera or is the shutter just worn out?

There's a repair manual at https://learncamerarepair.com/product.php?product=354&category=2&secondary=26

Looks quite detailed but you'll have to brush up your German to read it.

I had seen it. But I was hoping to avoid translating.
On the up side, the shutter is now clean and I think I figured out the adjustment (it's two screws that hold a bar on one side).
But on the down side, I had a very hard time fitting the shutter back in and some levers are not in the right position.
Also, I found a very small spring that probably goes somewhere and three small washers... got absolutely no idea where they go  :-\
