Easter Weekend - March 2- 5
« on: April 02, 2021, 10:43:21 AM »
Hi all, it is Easter Weekend over here. Hope you can hunt some easter eggs or do something nice. We are planning on baking (and eating) some bunny cookies and an Easter lamb.
Still got a snow pic as I am catching up with my scanning. Taken with an Agfa Super Isolette and Ilford Delta 400.

Any man who can see what he wants to get on film will usually find some way to get it;
and a man who thinks his equipment is going to see for him is not going to get much of anything.

Nice snow shot Manuel!  I have some snow melt, spring thaw at Lake Wenatchee in the Cascade Mountains.  Also, a friends dog at their cabin.  Zeiss Ikon ICA Trona 9X12 with Fomapan 100 developed in Rodinal 1:50.

After adjusting the light meter on the Yashica FX-2 I loaded a test roll of Kodak T-max 400 with ten frames. When I pulled the roll out of the tank I saw ten nice, dense frames perfectly exposed. Seems like the meter is now spot on, so the FX-2 looks like a keeper.

Nice shots everyone, although I’m ready for the snow to go! Flower foul season is coming up. 🙂

seems to be a tree theme going on, so  here's a shot from today.
Zenit E camera given to me by Chris here at FW in a share the love exchange a few years ago.
Industar 3.5, 50mm lens
Shot at 5.6, Arista 100 edu film, dunked in caffenol for about 8 minutes.
Since the pandemica began I've been making tree portraits of all the old cedar trees in my yard. They are really Junipers, and by girth measurement some are around 100 years old.
So far they don't seem to mind my faffing around making photos.

Trees are always great subjects. They don't fuss, they're patient and keep you cool when it's warm.

Monday still counts as the weekend, right? ;)

No trees, but some flowers instead. Turns out, daffodils grow at my new house. It's one of the only things that consoles me about the departure of my beloved winter.  :(

(Forgive the dusty border. I'm remembering how tedious it is to edit a scan. If I feel up to it, I'll clean it up and replace the current version.)

Don't worry about the dust, it doesn't show when you have a small screen.

These are from today, hoping that counts?

Last weekend I was delighted that there was some IR sensitivity remaining with a Kodak HIE from 2002. I'd used a red 25A filter, so not really IR, but I was really encouraged. Then midweek I found I had a 'proper' but oversized IR filter, used blue-tac to hold it to the lens and tried it with a fresh Rollei 400 IR film, only to find blank images...double checked the filter and noticed it cut out everything under 840nm, and the Rollei is only sensitive up to 820nm, doh!

This morning my 720nm filter arrived, so managed to catch the sun in the local park. I took four shots of each scene, the first unfiltered (here I think it's a little underexposed), then f11 at 1/8, 1/4, and 1/2s. Developed in Paranol S, 1:50, 7 minutes.

There's dust, and a bubble in one, and the sky was more cloudy than last weekend, so only hints of dark skies, but it snowed briefly about an hour after I got home.
