It's been a long while since I've posted but yesterday I went out to play with a Diana with Fisheye lens and IR film.

Silicon Wafer, Ladydown, and Shapes, what a great start.
These are from the last days of the old normal, early February.

Trying to decide if I have the desire to turn this into an actual photo essay. For the past couple of Fridays, I've been walking around my neighborhood observing the people who I fondly refer to as "Covidiots". NYC has supposedly opened up to phase 3, which seems to mean "Covidiot free-for-all". Masks are mostly absent, social distancing is certainly present, if you consider 1" of distance an acceptable amount. Also, observation of common courtesy (masks + distance) seems to be noticeably worse in Queens than in Brooklyn, and I believe in Manhattan as well (I've been to Brooklyn recently, not to Manhattan). As much as I love living in Queens, sometimes it seems to simply be "that part of Long Island that happens to be physically closer to Manhattan"  ::)

Anyways, rant over (for now), here's a restaurant at my street corner.

Same here. The neighbor is renovating and I counted 12 persons in the house and not a sign of a mask in sight.
Same thing at the grocery store, hardware store, dollar store...

I just looked at a map and didn't realize quite how far you have to drive through Queens to even get to Brooklyn ;D Yeah, Queens is definitely "West Long Island" :'(

I couldn't really say. The only time I've been to New York I was stuck for 4 hours in LGA waiting for my flight home.

LGA is maybe a 20 minute drive from my apartment. Next time come visit! ;D (NOT during COVID times, obvi ;) )
