Nice job Becky! I surprised the lichen reduced the pH that much. Are you going to keep experimenting with it or is this a one time thing? Could add some salt and try developing a little longer.
I've made this developer before but never documented it. I do plan on making more and experimenting more.
There's some catnip growing in the yard and some chokecherries and a ton of horehound behind the house that I also plan to make teas/ developers out of and see how they work.
the idea of using stuff out of the yard appeals to me even though instant coffee is still cheap.
The lichen water really smells nice if you like fresh green smelling things! A friend sent me a recipe to make a tincture out of it as it seems native people around the world knew of its medicinal properties. I'm tempted to drink the lichen tea or at least take a sip, but just haven't had the nerve just yet.
