Electric Scooter Weekend 12.06.2020
« on: June 12, 2020, 06:08:59 PM »
Where I live it seems everybody has got an electric scooter, it's a veritable invasion. Whatever happened to honest, old fashioned walking?  :o

We have a lot of scooters around here as well.  There's a company that places them all over the place, you rent it through an app that unlocks the electric scooter or bike.  I walk past them all the time, haven't rented one yet.  I live on a hill about 200' above the nearest bar so the thought has crossed my mind but I'm not sure if that little scooter can drag my drunk ass up the hill.

I re-spooled some 616 spools from a 70mm film cassette that I have had in my freezer for a while.  I think the 70mm cassette was for a Hasselblad camera back, it had 15' of film in it.  I should be able to get about 4.5 616 spools out of it.  It looks like a giant 35mm cassette.  The film is perforated but the perforations only slightly encroach on the image.  The film is Kodak Panatomic-X that expired in March 1972.  I rated it around ISO 5 so that means shooting everything handheld wide open on a sunny day with my Kodak Monitor, f/4.5.  The film was developed in beer.

The Black Lives Matter/ George Floyd protests hit close to home, this started at the church across the street from my house.  Don't worry, not looting took place.  It was cloudy so this shot was underexposed.

Bryan, did your cassette look like these? If so it's a standard 70mm cassette. Hasselblad, Mamiya, Linhof and a few more had film backs for 70mm. I've got the Hasselblad and the Mamiya back. This is the Mamiya back for RB67, I use it on a Polaroid 600SE.

That’s the one.  I got it really cheap on eBay, I was expecting a loose roll of film not a cassette.

My wife has a vast collection of tea and coffee pots so a dragged out the easiest to get to ones and shot them on FOMAPAN 400 in HC110 with the Linhof 5x4 along with some paint brushes from my youngsters long past art days.

Not an electric scooter, I hasten to add. But it is the daddy of all track vehicles.  ;D

1804, Richard Trevithick's steam loco achieved its first goal of hauling ten tons of iron from A to B, which it did at 5 miles per hour.

OK, this is a replica built in 1980, but still. Shot a couple of years ago on a 1928 Soho Reflex SLR on 6x9, with a Kershaw 120/4.5 on Tri-X.

MacoDirect in Germany sells 100ft. rolls of fresh 70mm film should you need more. They've got Rollei 400 Professional (perforated) an Rollei Ortho 25 (unperforated.

Thanks Kai, looks like they also have unperforated 35mm film, wish I knew that when I was looking for film for my 828 cameras.

Not electric, nor a scooter, but transportation none the less.

A couple of test shots from the Konica S2 mentioned elsewhere. Cropped to try and make them vaguely interesting (I know, I failed).
