Let's call it a weekend. 6/5/2020
« on: June 05, 2020, 08:39:11 PM »
Hello all,

I hope you are well!

I made this pic a few hours before a derecho* flattened the yard and everything in bloom. Too bad, but there's always next year.

Have a peaceful weekend!

* I've never heard of it either until now, but basically the wind goes from zero to 80mph in a heartbeat. I hope to not see another.

Scary stuff!  :o Luckily we've got nothing like that here, only a broken windowpane.

Hi there folks, long time no see. I have a few shots from this past week at the George Floyd protests in Philadelphia:

First two were shot on Tri-X at 800 and the last two in Fomapan 100. Stand-developed in HC-110 at some dilution (I added 15ml to a pitcher of water). Pentax 6x7 with the 105mm 2.4

That's some crazy weather Jeff, we're lucky to see a thunderstorm here.  I really like those shots of the protests Miguel, nice job, don't get tear gassed out there.

Last week I posted a shot from the Kodak Vest Pocket Autographic that I replaced the bellows on, it has the Rapid Rectilinear lens.  These are from another one I have that has the simple meniscus lens.  The Rapid Rectilinear lens is a little sharper.  These were shot on Ilford HP5+ and developed in beer.  The VW shot is cropped, hard to frame a shot only having the little prism finder.

Hi Miguel!
It's definitely been a long time. I was starting to wonder if it had anything to do with the Montreal winter trip?

That's pretty gutsy of you to go to a protest with a camera.

I wonder how the word derecho came to be used for that phenomenon. Derecho in Spanish means right, as in the wind has a right to go from zero to 80 in 3 seconds flat  ;D

Derecho also means right as in right-hand, and straight. Apparently it's the latter meaning used for the weather event

The Philadelphia Protest and Mask Portrait shots stand out for me in this week's thread as does Kai-san's window.

Stretching the limits of Covid 19 isolation, I ventured to Portsmouth, New Hampshire for some personal business and to continue photographing US Route 1.
