Been shooting in a demolition area downtown lately. They're knocking down old solid buildings, probably to build some cheap condo that has to be pulled down in 30 years time. I found a closed shop round the corner, quite fancied the window display.

I like the 7 Cromwell Place photo Blaxton.  Is that a musical instrument or a wind chime?  I have seen some gongs similar to that in the South Pacific that were made from old compressed gas cylinders.  The village elders used them to call meetings.  Yours looks more purposefully made.   

This is from a test roll from my Kodak Bantam Special that I recently replaced the bellows on.  This is a neighbors front yard, he collects stuff.  He has some very nice classic cars as well.  This photo came out good but the close focus shots were clearly off, need to keep working on that.  The film is un-perforated ORWO UN54 developed in beer.  This film does really well in beer.

Got out as far as common sense allows these days, which would be the backyard, with a Polaroid Land Camera with a Kali-Copier taped to it to use as a macro lens. Fujifilm FP-100C. Expired a few years back. Still performing well.

I love my Kali-Copier, I was just thinking about getting out.  I assume you don't use the bracket if you're taping the lens to the camera.  How do you focus without the bracket?

I love my Kali-Copier, I was just thinking about getting out.  I assume you don't use the bracket if you're taping the lens to the camera.  How do you focus without the bracket?

Bryan, I do use the bracket. The whole thing is gaffer taped to the front of the camera. That way I just lay the bracket on or around whatever I'm shooting since the DOF is so razor thin. DOn't know how I would get focus otherwise.

I went nuts years ago when Land Cameras were really cheap and readily available on ebay and elsewhere and film was still being produced in three varieties. The original idea was to get one of each model Land Camera produced. That never happened, but I did wind up with many, so dedicating one of the "lesser" models to the Kali-copier didn't feel like giving anything up. I put lesser in quotes because the truth about the Land Cameras is that even though some have glass lenses and Zeiss viewfinders, even the plastic lens lower end models in the 100, 200, 300 and 400 line all make excellent photos. But you probably know that.

But yes, having a dedicated Kali-Pola or Pola-Kali or whatever makes it quite simple to grab and go when an idea strikes.

Kaliroid. I like Kaliroid. That's what I'll call it.

One of the odder Polaroid products was a print copier for the Highland cameras. I came across one amongst my dad's stuff. In the long run, it would have been more cost-effective to make a copy negative and print from that, but I suppose if one needed an immediate copy, this was about the only way to get one.

I've never seen anything like that. They probably didn't sell many of them.
