No, the meter is fine, it's just that sensitive to voltage. When I got the camera it had some Mercury cells and exposure was spot on. When the batteries died, it some wein cells for it. Since they are slightly thicker than the original cells, I had to Dremel out a bit of the battery cover. And when I used them, exposure was completely off. When those cells died, I got some more but this time have them more time to breathe before putting them in. Same result. And when these died, I managed to find some mercury cells in an old camera store. I put them in the camera and the exposure was back to normal....
If I ever get around to fixing the few issues it has (the exposure counter needs a drop of oil) I might try and make an adapter for silver cells and recalibrate the whole thing....
