As promised in a previous weekend thread, I shot a roll of Delta 400 at 1600 to see if I can get the same creamy blown out whites that I get with Delta 100 at box speed. The answer is ... complicated. Yes, it definitely works, as you can see below. But only under the proper lighting conditions (of course, as we all know, a well lit scene will always give you a good photo, and vice versa, regardless of film, speed, or processing technique). Under most other conditions, I'd prefer to use Tri-X or HP5 at 1600. And those films are less expensive too 😉
