Daylab question.
« on: February 26, 2014, 05:48:52 PM »
Greetings fellow film enthusiasts! I have a Daylab slide printer in great condition that is missing the power cord. It is a two pronged insert into the back of the unit and I can't find one anywhere. Would anyone happen to have a spare? Or is there a place where I could purchase one? I can find nothing on the google.

Many thanks!
Bunny

Is there a transformer inside the unit or did it use a "wall wart"?

Mmmmm...
If it is, you really need to know the voltage or it'll just make one big flash and then release its mysterious blue smoke...

is it this model that you have?
http://www.photosmith.ca/Library/Polaroid%20Daylab%2035%20Users%20Guide.pdf
or this one
http://www.photosmith.ca/Library/Polaroid%20Daylab%2035%20Plus%20Users%20Guide.pdf

The instructions for the second one say it uses 12 volts DC. If it's a regular barrel plug, then it's easy to find.
Somehow, I have the feeling that they probably used the same circuit in all their products, so 12 VDC should be safe. (one site says it's 1.25 amp power)
All that's left to do then is figure out the polarity. But some things work no matter the polarity.

If there's a good electronics surplus place near where you live, they usually have knowledgeable people there who can help. I know that's where I head to when I have questions.

Have you tried contacting Daylab? I know that their website is down and don't know if they're still in business but here is some contact information I got from archive.org
