Title: Merry Christmas 2020
Post by: Francois on December 24, 2020, 04:49:40 PM
I guess it's that time again where the big guy in the red suit has left the North Pole on his yearly run.
So, I wish you all Merry Christmas.
I hope you manage to make the most of the season and stay safe.
I also hope Santa brings you a few goodies. It might be a boring Xmas but it's no reason not to try and be happy.

Cheers!

And to you as well Francois.  I hope you are warm and safe on the other side of Canada.  It is a cold (for Victoria) +2 degrees today!

I hope everyone is enjoying their first COVID Christmas, and hopefully the last.  I know a lot of people are starting new traditions with their immediate families since travel is limited, it will be interesting to see how this carries over into the future.  Personally I hate traveling during holidays but most of my family is nearby, still won’t be seeing them in person this year though.

Bah! Don't worry about it. It won't be that bad. We haven't had any people over for Xmas for a good 30 years.
It's a bit boring but we do survive.
On the plus side it gives us a chance to play a bit with our new toys  ;D
Also, our cable provider unlocks a bunch of channels for the month so I get to watch cartoons  :P

Merry Christmas and lots of blessings to you, my fellow Filmwasters. :)

I'm looking forward to 2021. It looks like it won't be as bad as 2020. ;)

Don't worry, 2021 can't possibly be as bad as 2020.

Well, in times like this, optimism is pretty much all we've got left. So we gotta make the most of it.
We gotta get back to the essentials. Since everything is hard, if we have good health and manage to not loose our mind, we've pretty much won half the battle.

And yes Ken, I'm the one and only François here :)
Still chatting about pretty much anything and everything....

Welcome back Ken.

"eyes, I just do eyes" - I guess you're still working for that little ophthalmology company then?

You know how it is, people love the little ophthalmology company, they buy our stuff, money gets put in my bank, I go spend it on motorcycles and photography

Is that the circle of life?  ;)

Well a very belated Christmas and New year wishes from me as I have been laid up with the dreaded Covid 19.
I wasn't bad enough to go to hospital thankfully but I have pretty much been confined to bed since Xmas day up till a couple of days ago, with my phone to keep me company.
I didn't have any of the classic(?) symptoms at all but a constant headache, unable to take anything more than a shallow breath and a vice like grip feeling to my windpipe and chest. I am a relatively fit guy who ran 5 miles or so twice weekly and I struggled to walk the dozen or so steps from my bedroom to the bathroom without being totally out of breath and feeling dizzy.
I took a test on the 29th which I never got the results back in the allotted 2 -5 days so took another on the 5th Jan which proved positive. I feel lucky as I never had to go to hospital but there was a time for a couple of days when my wife was on the verge of calling an ambulance. Thankfully no one else in the house caught it from me and I am on the mend, although I still cant take a full breath without a little discomfort.
Work have put me on furlough, I was due back on the 4th so I don't have to worry about that and I have recently ventured outside for a couple of short walks and felt ok on returning.
So I hope everyone had a good Xmas and whatever you do keep away from other people as much as possible - I think I got it at work travelling on the shuttle at the airport, it was a little crowded, - wear a mask and implore anyone who isn't to wear one, believe me you don't want to get it, wash your hands etc etc etc....
Stay as safe as you can.

Definitely glad you're getting over it.
This bug is definitely nasty and it's the reason why I'm not more active photographically.

Take care.

Sorry to hear that Irv, sounds like it was quite rough even though you didn’t get hospitalized.  I hope you fully recover soon.

This virus is a bit strange in many ways.
If you get it you either have absolutely no symptoms or feel like you've been run over by a garbage truck...
To me that's a bit scary.
