I modified my Pinhole Rocket for WPPD, and this time it works fine. No light through the front plate.
The model on pic 3 is my father ;)

That is an impressive lens flare! 👍🏾

And totally unexpected. I've had two identical Rolleiflex's over the years, both 3.5 Tessar. The first was my first TLR, roughly 1976 to '79, when I regrettably had to sell it to fund a new 35mm SLR. Ten years ago, I found one that was manufactured about 3 months after the first one. TL;DR I've shot a fair amount with the Tessar over the years and have never had flare before.

I'm still not sure whether it was from direct sun or the highlight off the top of the car. We're in the annual gray season here - Graypril, May Gray, June Gloom - due to the marine layer, so I had kind of anticipated much softer lighting. By the time I got around to that particular car the lighting was pretty harsh. That angle was the only one I could find without direct reflections into the lens from the headlights, windshield frame, etc. I guess it points to the fact that you can own a camera off and on for decades, and still discover attributes and anomalies along the way.

The local Porsche 356 Club met at a nearby parts distributor a couple of weeks ago, which prompted me to drag the Rolleiflex 3.5 Tessar out of the closet. Nothing better for photographing mid-20th century cars than a period-correct camera. I had a couple of rolls of Bergger Panchro 400 in the freezer, and that seemed appropriate as well.

I live in NYC, so walking in front of other peoples' pictures (usually tourists taking super boring shots of buildings on their cellphones) is inevitable. I consider it part of the challenge and have to restrain myself from laughing while telling these same tourists to go ahead and walk in front of me as they politely stop to the left/right of my camera. It's a big city; as long as you follow the cardinal rule of "move fast or get outta the way" you're good 😁

Last sundaay I took myself off into London to shoot a group of random strangers dressed in their finest attire

https://thechap.co.uk/2024/01/24/the-fourth-grand-flaneur-walk/

It was an enjoyable couple of hours even if it was mainly digi shooters there rattling off 10 shots at a time and it was a bit of a bun fight at time The ettiquite of photographers at these events are awful though people were just not aware of their surrondings and walking or standing in front of you after you have posed the "model" so annoying. The Mamiya C33  got some attention from the participants and a couple of older shoters told me of their days shooting film.

More late urban scenes with the Kodak Fun Saver Panoramic 35. This 2:1 image ratio is very trendy it seems, many recent movies and series were shot in this format called Univisium. I inadvertently followed the hype!

I'm either really late to this party or really early for the next weekend fling....
At any rate, here's a pinhole from the Reality so subtle camera that I put some 35mm film in.
It's the 120 model, but the 35mm film can fits in fine with a little bit of coaxing.

Some old color doused in a soon to be exhausted C41 kit.
