Announcing a new postcard exchange, "The Summer Postcard Swap"
The rules are the same but if you're new here, this is how it goes:
1) Sign up by May 31 if you want to play.
PM me your name and address with country and e-mail.
I need your e-mail address to contact you since the forum only allows two private messages an hour. If you don't send me your e-mail, it will take a LOT longer to get your list of names.
2) Names will be sorted on June 3.
Since we have Filmwasters from around the globe, I'll sort and divide the collected names into manageable groups (about 12 per group) to keep the cost of printing and postage at a manageable level.
Next I'll make a list of the sorted names and addresses and send them to everyone that signed up by June 3.
3) Postcards should be sent out by June 30.
Cards can be printed in the darkroom or with inkjet printers on any paper (6x4 or 5x7 inches)
The important thing is the negative used to make the print must be a film capture.
The subject matter is entirely up to you and it's not a competition either, so have fun with it!
You can send the same print to everyone on your list, or you can make different prints for each person, it's up to you.
Details about the image such as location, camera and film type written on the back with a short message are appreciated but not required.
Stamp, address and then sign the card so we know who it's from and drop it in the mail and then wait for amazing cards to arrive in your post box.
This is always a lot of fun, so don't miss out.
Once again the important dates to remember are:
May 31= last day to sign up.
June 3=names sorted into groups and sent to participants.
June 30= deadline to send out cards.
Thanks!
astrobeck, your humble postcard wrangler.

Okay, me too :)
-
I'm in this time ;D
The important thing is the negative used to make the print must be a film capture.
I've been playing around with Cyanotypes lately, the thing is I'm scanning 135 or 120 film to create an enlarged digital negative, does this still count?
-
As long as the original capture was with film, you're good.
Welcome to the exchange!
-
Count me in!
-
ah go on then - stick me down too!
-
Got you on the list Alan!
Welcome to the exchange!

So far we have 19 fabulous Filmwasters on the sign-up list for the exchange.

-
Thanks Francois!
I'm not sure anyone would appreciate my Texas drawl on the auction mike.
;D
-
I already ordered 24 postcards so could I have the entire list just so I can mail one to all?
..that doesn't mean I expect everyone to send me one..I just want to be able to send out all the cards I have ordered.
-
I don't see a problem with your generous offer Diane.
If anyone else wants to send to the entire list, just let me know.
Just be cool with not getting a card from the 'extra' names that are not on your exchange list.
The list is still growing and will grow a bit more before May 31, the final day to add names.
Currently the name count is 22.
:)
-
Great idea Diane! I want to send everyone a postcard, too!
Urban
-
I just really enjoy sending out the postcards..so not an issue at all how many I receive!!
-
I'm in too!!

-
Yes please Beck - I'm in!

-
We are down to the last two days for sign up!
As it currently stands, one list will have 12 names and the other will have 13.
If you're thinking of joining, please do before the end of the day on May 31.
I'll sort names June 3 and send your list then.
Thanks to all that signed up and
Happy post-carding!

Who did you order your postcards through? Any tips?
-
Hi Jack! I have used a local printer at least 4 times and they do excellent work! I also tried MOO once and they were also very good, and within my budget!
-
Jack and others....
You can also have them printed at a one hour lab, then use adhesive to stick them to watercolor or some other art type paper to make cards.
Have fun!
-
I did send a PM about signing up, but I'm not sure that it got through - just posting here to make sure. Let me know if you need my details again.
-
Please send your info! I didn't get it and don't want you left out!
:) :) :)

Who did you order your postcards through? Any tips?
I always drymount or spraymount some real photos (rubber glue can also be used). I find that for low volumes like that, it's worth it.
I checked out my local Staples last year and their postcard stock was so thin it probably wouldn't have survived through the mail.
I find that prints done with instant printers that use a dry process don't like being rubbed during shipping. A bit of abrasion makes some colors disappear in some spots and the image looks weird. Inkjet is fine as long as it doesn't get rained on. From what I've heard, my Fuji Crystal Archive prints survived pretty good last year.

for Americans international flat rate postage for postcards is now $1.05 for max 4 1/4 x 6 inch. $0.32 for domestic.

Geez! How come us domestic shipping is so friggin cheap!
Here in the Great North (Canada), Domestic is 0.61$, US 1.05$ and international 1.80$
-
I was thinking of ordering some postcards from moo.com - I've got business cards from them before and their quality has been pretty good. Minimum order is 20, but then I'm sure I can always find a use for some extra postcards. Has anybody used them for this?
-
Ordinal, I have used them a few times and the quality of the cards is great.
For those with an iphone you might take a look at hugmail or hugmail.com - I think that you can only use it from the UK, but, you can basically upload a photo which is then printed and posted for you. You can buy credits that include the postage to anywhere in the world very a VERY reasonable price. I have tetsted the service a few times to the UK and once to Crete and it seems to work fine.

Sending postcards from US to Canada or Mexico is $0.85. Maybe that's why the USPS is loosing tons of money? Canada Post... I hate Canada Post. ;D They have lost so many of my packages, it's unbelievable.
-
I'm thinking about doing a different card size for the domestic US as it could be up to 6 x 11 inch for $0.45 shipped... Maybe I should think more about producing a decent photo instead of logistics. :'(
-
Canada Post... I hate Canada Post. ;D They have lost so many of my packages, it's unbelievable.
I don't blame you. So far, I got empty ripped envelopes, mail from another street that isn't even in my neighborhood, a special order from the camera store in Montreal that arrived with a 3 inch hole on the side, ripped magazines (split almost all the way in two), bent magazines with a broken spine and mail with snot on it which I had to wash under the tap before opening it... That's pretty hard to beat...
-
Finally, all the names have been drawn and sorted and you, my fun-loving filmwasting postcard making friends have all been sent messages with your list of names and addresses that you are to send cards to.
Cards should be mailed by June 30, so there's plenty of time to get them printed and sent.
If you did not get your list, please let me know.
If your address is wrong, please let me know.
Otherwise have a great time making and receiving your cards.
This has been a lot of fun for me already, and I can't wait to see and hear about all the amazing cards arriving in mailboxes. This is truly the exciting part of this!!!
Thanks again!
Becky, your humble postcard wrangler
-
Thank you for all your work Becky!
-
No problem Diane, thanks to all of you for signing up and making it a huge success!
-
Aye thanks, have been Printing on Ilford postcard paper, such fun !

Great Harvey, cant belive it arrived that fast. Wouldn't happen when NOT leaving Sweden ;D
-
Ack! I'm still fretting, still considering a fresh shoot. No pressure.
-
Cheers Piet !
Very Pro, my Cherry is gone.
Will be posting out this week.
What a chuffing great thang this is.
-
Finally, I managed to decide on an image which is gone to the lab. And I've addressed all my backs. All I need to do is print them out :)
I just love it when a plan gets together.
-
Great image Britt! Your card already arrived.
Here as well! Fantastic, Britt!
-
Just got back from our holiday last night to find Britt's postcard, its fabulous thanks.
Boy aren't you lot quick off the mark, just scanning in some to send off to the printers.
Gave up on the idea to print some Cyanotypes as the weather in the UK is pants.
-
I think Britt's postcards had tiny wings attached! Mine certainly arrived quickley! And such a beautiful card Britt!..I would expect nothing less! :) :)
-
Gave up on the idea to print some Cyanotypes as the weather in the UK is pants.
Pants weather? Does that mean hot and steamy, or cold and desolate?
-
Pants weather? Does that mean hot and steamy, or cold and desolate?
Pants as in Gale force winds and driving rain, haven't seen much in the way of sun for a while now.
Typical British Weather :(
-
Matt, I love your website..Great pinholes!
-
Matt, I love your website..Great pinholes!
Diane, thanks. I've just fallen for the pinhole, it's my go to camera at the moment.
Took it away on holiday, so now have loads of film waiting to be developed.
-
UK cards Posted ...
Internationals later today hopefully.
Not sure at 44 I should quite so excited but i'll deal with that.
-
You are all very kind about my pic, so pleased you like it. Thank you.
And I just cant belive how fast they arrived to everyone? Mailservice in Sweden is not famous for speed delivery... ::)
-
Just received two postcards this morning from Sandeha and Piet, excellent they are too!!
Will have to get my ar$e into gear this week and get mine off!
Paul
-
Just got Britt's this afternoon as I came back from the electronics store with a new power supply to fix my dead modem...
I was surprised to see a square format :)
-
Internationals now posted, and got Sandeha's too.
Great DXP, love it thanks.
-
locals sent on Saturday, far-a-ways sent this morning!

Really, I guess most of my pics are square. Or do you mean the acuall format of the postcard? ???
-
Square postcard I meant :)
It's pretty rare around here to see a square postcard as it costs a lot more to mail. The automatic machines don't handle them good so they have to be manually sorted...

Ahaaaaa, then I get it. Was a bit confused, cause most of my pics are square. LOL We got a really good lab in Sweden, where you can get a lot of different sizes, even in postcards. I always use them for the stuff I dont print myself.

thanks for bringing this up :)
-
picked up my postcards yesterday so they should be popping into the postal box by Friday!!
-
Just got a kick-a$$ postcard from Piet!
Super photo, just love it, thanks Piet!
-
Becky's postcard just arrived..Perfect black & white..i love it!
-
I'd love to find a cheap square postcard as I only shoot square these days. I'm always faced with a crop or a lot of unused space!
-
2 arrived yesterday. One from Piet and one from Sandeha. Fantastic start; thanks gentlemen.
Sent using Tapatalk 2
-
Yay! sent all mine off today. UK one's should be there in a couple of days, Europe... next week?... US... god knows!
Paul
-
Got the pictures yesterday. Got all glued up today (boy is spray mount ever sticky... now how do I pry those two fingers apart ;) ). Got some stamps and dropped them all in the box. I just hope they will hold since I couldn't find my dry mounting paper :-\
-
got cards from piet, becky and sandeha. Sent three out already. Did not have a lot of time to make them, was in a hurry. Some turned out good but others are a bit messy.
-
I have received three, but the ones I ordered printed from Moo should arrive tomorrow or Saturday, so I can send them out before I hit that all-important "received more than half you've sent" point.
-
had some time sent out 4 more, need to make another 6.
-
Becky's postcard just arrived..Perfect black & white..i love it!
Me too! Fantastic shot, Becky!

How long ago did you place your MOO order?
-
I've had cards from Piet, Miles and Paul this week. I'm not sure what surprises me most, the individuality of subject matter or the range of techniques. Brilliant.
-

I ordered them on Tuesday, and I got a dispatch notification yesterday, and they arrived this morning. Which is pretty fast turnaround.
I'm really not happy with the print quality, though. They're horribly grainy and the tones are all messed up on the B&W - they're worse than my cheap inkjet printing on budget 4x6 paper, and certainly nowhere as good as the (now four! thanks Piet, Sandeha, Miles, Paul!) cards I've received myself. I've sent a complaint about it.
I suppose at this rate I'll probably end up going to a shop, having some printed as normal photos and then gluing them onto card.
EDIT: To be fair, Moo have now got back to me with apologies, saying it was a production error that wasn't caught, and that they'll reprint and send them back out. So, I should have some replacements next week, which hopefully will be a lot better.
-
Got miles postcard today! sent out two more cards.
-
have not been on in a while -
i got 3 beautiful cards during the week . . .
Sandeha - wonderful double exposure ;)
Piet - bedankt voor de mooie kaart! love the transfer, something I have yet to try.
Miles - great b+w card, i like your innovation - works well.
thanks so far guys - love the script on the card telling how and where the images were taken.
I have been shooting some colour and b+w over the last 2 weeks so hope to develop the b+w today and probably not going to get the colour done for a week or so.
...so the DIY cards most likely will be b+w and sent out next week.
great idea to wrangle this together - again - thanks becky!
-
Top, got Becky's and Paul's now too. To go with Sandeha's and Piet's.
Cool variations on a theme.
-
Received from Becky. Delightful !! :)
-
Three on the same day!
Piet, Miles and Paul - thank you.
-
Mine are now at the mercy of the mail. I've got a couple of spares thanks to Moo's minimum quantities so if anyone has got a small crack they need to cover let me know ;)
Harvey
-
Received a very nice one from Miles!
It's one of my favorite photos too!
Love it!
-
All sent out, ran out of paper and chem... Hopefully they will arrive in good shape. Much harder to do on small postcard size as I needed more precision, as I was cutted up larger sheets of paper, some a bits skewed. Would have been easier and constant if buy already made sized, but what fun will that be? Looks like I was on the UK list... was expecting more from other countries. ;)
-
And today I got my first postcard. Finding it's way all the way from Canada to Sweden. Thank you Francois, the card is beautiful! And in good shape as well, so the canadian postal service must have been in a good mood. ;D
-
And number two is from Becky! Thank you. You've really found a nice camera & film combination.
I've also sent out all my cards today.
Urban

Wow, that was fast!
It's always great news to know the card arrived in one piece!
-
Thanks Becky, that's not bad to to to the US of A timewise.
Japanese camera from the 60's that someone took to Cuba, that I bought and loaded with film from Germany, took back to England, developed and printed and then sent out to America.
Sorted !
-
I got my first 2!
Thanks Becky & Brit.
Love them :)
-
got a primo card from paul.
-
Just received two excellent cards this morning from tkmedia and urbanhafner... cheers peeps!
Paul
-
The replacement cards came from Moo and they are exactly the same >:(
All right, I'm just going to print stuff and stick it onto card, now.
-
That's unfortunate...I hope you can get a refund!
-
Got three more now. From Becky, Harvey and Urban Hafner. Beautiful, I love them! This is such a wonderful thing, to swap postcards.
Thank you all!
-
That's unfortunate...I hope you can get a refund!
I can't fault their customer service to be honest - they sent a refund as soon as I asked for it, no messing about. I'll happily use them in the future for, say, business cards (I love their little half-size ones) or stickers. Maybe their machines are having a bad week.
-
Got two more topper cards today, Urban's Hawkeye and TK's Cyanotype, excellent both.
Thank You
-
Now there's a coincidence, Miles. I also received cards from TK and Urban. Great stuff.
I am not thinking about awarding points on this, but the cyanotype of Christy has huge impact. ;)
-
Points? I dont need points... the camera your working on will be good enough! ;)
-
amazing cards from Sandeha, Tony and Paul M.
Love them all!
Incredible talent and printing styles so far.
Thanks!!!
-
3 really lovely cards received from Becky, Paul and urban!
thanks guys and gals!
-
So far already 6 postcards that make me happy, thanks Tony, Sandeha, Paul, Urban, Miles and Becky and yes Becky the postmen did their best, the card came in perfect shape ! Thanks.
-
my postcards are all in the post!
-
I'm still wondering why mine are so slow to get to their destination... ???
-
I'm still wondering why mine are so slow to get to their destination... ???
But I got from you, Francois! The first one to arrive. Strange I'm the only one?
-
Pretty much what I was thinking... and I also got yours... but not Jonas' which was mailed at about the same time if I'm not mistaken...
-
Francois, I've just got yours too, you are so on-the pulse, very topical! thanks. Also got Becky's, again lovely, thanks.
-
Yeah! one more came to port safe and sound!
-
Jackpot day!
Three cards.
Francois' totally rocking, get you in the Olympic groove card.
Diane's very cool pinhole with an uber cool stamp and Urban's nice B&W card with a stamp on the back nearly as big as the card.
Thanks all!
You guys are awesome! :)
-
Received Francois' wonderful card today..Quite appropriate I would say! A beauty!
-
got urban card safe but got a torn and rough looking one from diane in one of those plastic sleeves and a sorry note from the postal service. I wonder how they know where to deliver it as the address area is barely readable. Odd but it actually looks good with wear ;D
-
so sad :( would you like me to try sending another?
-
no additional card needed Diane.
-
Just to update in the last week I got cards from
Urban, Becky, Shaun & Francois.
All great cards and arrived in one piece.
Just got mine back from MOO this week, shall be writing them ready to post tomorrow.
-
Over the last fortnight, I've been on the receiving end of a steady stream of bleedin' lovely cards from all over the world. Thanks everyone. I really need to get my act together and send mine out. Well, get it printed first....after working out which one I am going to use....and then finding out who I have to send them to.
Sorry!! I've not exactly been on top of it this time.
-
I've got some lovely cards here now~ some even without skidmarks on the front!! so happy ;D
I ordered mine this weekend. sorry, no darkroom prints this time folks :) should be on their way soon.
-
It's been a bit manic at work - and not in a good way, unfortunately >:(
Anyway, the shot is chosen and Moo are in the process of printing them. I got an update saying that they anticipate they should be with me 29/06. Hopefully, I'll have a better experience than Ordinal. First time I've ordered anything from them. Easy enough process but I'll reserve judgement until they arrive.
Off to Manchester for 3 days from tomorrow - so it'll be quiet from me until weekend. I've received some stunning cards so far from Britt, Shaun (Harvey), Becky, Urbanhafner and Francois. I'll be delighted if mine get anywhere remotely near that level of quality....
-
Okay, cards stamped and now posted, it's out of my hands now, hope they all get there in one piece.
-
Received my lurverly card from Diane this morning, another cracking image to add to the one's already received.
Paul
-
thanks for all the cards so far everyone. Mine are going to be very late I'm afraid. I will send them, but I can't say when. Apologies.
L.
-
Better late than never! :)
-
OK! They're finally starting to pour in!
I got a very lovely laundromat from Urban and some nice Lunarias from Harvey!
All in pristine condition! They probably didn't get to go through the sorting machine that's equipped with the ever famous mail smashing robot ;D
-
Diane, yours arrived yesterday. Spooky but smiley. ;D
-
postcards sent! apparently I took the smaller size, I was a little surprised when I recieved them haha :D
but now there's twelve cute holga shots on their way all over the globe~
-
Found a lovely pinhole from Diane when I got home from work.
You lot are all so talented.
-
Dunno how you did that, Alan. But it's steamin' good.
-
Pity I have discovered this too late.. When will be the next run? Will I have to wait for next summer or is there going to be a Christmas Postcard Swap? :)
-
PM me your address Andrej, I have a few postcards left!
-
We usually do a print circle/swap among individuals in December so watch for that!
It's a very nice way to send and then receive a print from a fellow Filmwaster.
PM me your address and I'll send you a card.
Becky
Pity I have discovered this too late.. When will be the next run? Will I have to wait for next summer or is there going to be a Christmas Postcard Swap? :)
-
PM sent, thank you for your kindness.. And I'll be on watch as the year will come near to it's end :)
-
Pity I have discovered this too late.. When will be the next run? Will I have to wait for next summer or is there going to be a Christmas Postcard Swap? :)
I've got a postcard and stamp extra. PM me your adress if you want to do a exchange and I'll send you mine :)
-
Dunno how you did that, Alan. But it's steamin' good.

thankx!

The red flare.

hmm probably happened during transit . . .
does it look good?
-
Really? Then it must be a zillion miles from your intentions - yet it looks so natural. :D

I just got the card, and I got one with a smoky burnt looking edge...

Mine is perfect, apart from the ubiquitous fluorescent orange, dotted lines up one side. I must say that the flames shooting out has transformed it! Looks like it ought to be on the next Back to the Future movie! :D 8)
-
ha! thats mad . . .
obviously came from the machine that prints that funny orange bar code . . .
i like it 8)
-
Actually, I'm pretty sure the print is from a dye sub machine like those instant photo kiosks!
These layer thin wax film on top of each other and finish up with a protective layer. Since B&W is made of the CMYK layers with black as the top, as soon as it rubs on the mail sorting machines, the black layer goes and you can end up with strange effects.
Now, for the position of this "blotch", I call it serendipity :)
-
You're right I think, Francois. Under the microscope there's a scuff that goes down two sharp-edged layers to the white below.
It does look great. :)
-
Woohoo! My postcards just arrived, I'm on the couch addressing them now, to be postmarked tomorrow morning. :)
(EDIT: I'm far enough west that tomorrow is still June.)
-
Like bananas, they come in bunches :)
Got 3 lovely cards yesterday. Thank you so much Diane, its a wonderful story in this photo. You are a master in pinhole photography. And Jonas, I love this photo from you, very happy to have a print of it. Matt, that print from you is a "up on the wall" photo. A beautiful and emotional photo.
Thank you all, love this Swap thing.

Hi all.
Just got back from fieldwork and found a pile of beautiful postcards waiting for me. Thank you all. I also picked up mine today- used a local print shop and the quality is atrocious so I'll get them re-done & post next week.
Profuse apologies for being late.
-
Hi all
Sent mine today.
I have received from Urban Hafner, Paul Mitchell, Sandeha, Becky, Tony, Alan Lambe, Miles Davis, Diane Peterson and Piet de Wolff. Thanks to all of you. The best thing about exchanges like this is that I get to see a lot of different styles and images.
Best regards
Birger A.

Got back from a couple of days away to find an array of Black and white goodness so thanks to Diane, Urban, Keith and Matt. Such variety and all top prints.
Shaun
-
Just got some lovely figures from Diane!
Very sweet :)
-
Received a wonderful card from Alan, although it's not quite as fiery as the one Sandeha got with the flames shooting out of the side! ;D
Love it!
-
I've been my usual slack self :-[ Cards will be here later this week so hope to get them off very soon!
-

sorry about that, i ran out of coal !! ;D
-
Well, it seems Keith has found the flame down under!
I got a lovely postcard of his MG that has quite some fiery flare coming from the rear view mirror :)
-
Thank you!!
Francois, Urban,Keith,Matt,Diane,Shaun & Jonas...Really lovely batch of talented photography!
Love them!
I apologize, as I haven't even scanned mine yet.
Thanks to Queen Izsabella.
Who had surgery last week & has thrown me off my game.
I'll get them done & out very soon!
-
Oh my!
Hope Izabella is recovering quickly!
She's so cute.
-
She's healing quicky. But doesn't know her own strength & has already had to have her stitches redone once :-\
I just put the collar on and she's miserable.
lol
I agree...she is a cutie!
Thanks Becky!
-
My re-printed cards arrived today. Just posted them all. We're keeping the posties of the world busy.
-
Just got St. Martin's from Ordinal, thanks Chum :D

So did I today, a wonderful postcard, Keith. Thank you soooooo much!

Just came back home to find Jonas' ever so tiny postcard waiting for me. Lovely flowers.
But the card has me wondering: Jonas; did you bribe the postman or what? The card came home without a single nick, bent corner or even a scratch! This can't be normal... ;)
-
haha well you know small players are better at avoiding blows, right? ;) anyhow, glad it made it in such good nick!
about that.. I seem to always have bad luck with recieving card with skid marks and everything but from when I got your card, francois, the rest were all good! maybe my good luck rubbed off ;D
-
Well, I have always been known to "overbuild" everything I do :)
-
Andrej...
I'd be glad to swap postcards with you.
PM me, your address ,if you'd like :)
-
I've been remiss in my postcard updates!
To recap: Britt, Diane, Becky, Francois, Urban, Harvey, Shaun, and most recently Keith and Matt!
They are all fantastic. For those of you who haven't seen Keith's yet, you're in for a treat. Shaun, my wife is going to steal that postcard when I'm not looking, she's in love with your beautiful still life. Urban, fantastic framing, love those Acros blacks with that flipped lens. Do you just trim the 120 roll to fit? Diane, now that I've seen the original image I'm disappointed I didn't get a foot-long postcard ;) . And Matt, just fantastic, love that grain, and the exposure is perfect, it just draws you in.
Francois, I think you and I are the only two who chose color in our group! Love those repeating patterns and hues, and I suspect it'll be a haunting image for the UKers this year. ;) I toured part of the Olympic pavilion in Barcelona in the late '90s and it had the same strange emotional tug-of-war: all sharp and inspiring and magnificent and empty and dusty. It would be hard for me not to spend Saturdays there reading apocalyptic fantasy novels with a sack lunch.
-
3 new cards arrived today. I now have Becky, Urban, Shaun, Jonas, Francois, Diane, Matt and Britt.
The diversity is astounding... My pin-board is starting to look really cool 8)
Thank you all!

If you look really closely, you can see spider webs in between some of the seats...

Received two more amazing cards this morning, brightened my day on a rather gloomy rainsoaked Friday morning. Many thanks Ordinal & Birger!
Paul
-
Jack, thank you...I had considered sending the postcard in its original size but was worried the postal services would catch an end and tear it to smitherines..as it was my printers printed a bit too dark for my taste but I decided to quit worrying and just send it!
-
My oh my. There's certainly something to be said for a leaky Moskva - in the right hands. Thanks, David.
-
Just got a nice card from Matt. Now wow, this has such a vintage feel!
I just wonder at what time you had to get up to get such nice fog?
I traced the place back on streetview and it's pretty weird how the place looks nothing like the card when taken under a sunny sky!
-
got Birger card in the States, bit torn on top.
-
Postcards have arrived. Will get them out later this week (in Manchester Mon / Tues).
-
Been away, just came home to DS' mystical Jaques Tati !
Really very good.
-
A fabulous blast of colour from Birger. Thank you.

If I can remember it was about 8am, I started my wonder around town that morning at 7am.
It only really gets foggy here in December.
Glad you liked it.

I got one from andrej too! a great lith with warm colour to it~
seems the postal service decided to give it a bit of character though, it's ripped from one corner to the other! they did a pretty good job taping it together though :)
thanks andrej!
-
Jonas, that is a pity about the card..But I am glad you like it despite that..
This is really fun, I am looking forward to next swap :-)

One in from Phil. An excellent addition. :)

Sandeha, your counting is fine.
A few of us decided to send to the entire list.

I've just returned from a holiday on Orkney and found a couple of cards from Phil and Nick. Both very different, but both excellent and not a scratch on them too.
Cheers

Andrej....received your card today . Fantastic image! What camera did you use?

Glad it arrived safely and you like it..
The image was made with Sinar Norma 5x7 monorail camera, using "local" foma film and chemistry from Wolfgang Moersch, contact printed on foma paper..

This morning, I got a bit of Hinduism straight from Texas...
Slightly scratched but I've seen a lot worse :)
Thanks Chricel :)
-
Aaargh! You're all making me feel terrible. I have received some truly wonderful postcards this time round (surely this is the best swap EVER!)...but I haven't done a darn thing about getting mine own out to all you good people. Sorry. I'm just off to lash myself 50 times with a birch switch (not for penance....I just find it helps focus my mind) and will try my best to get on with this ASAP.
But seriously, thanks a million; this lot have been truly fantastic.

Me too! But no scratches. :)
It's just fantastic, Chricel. What did you use for the selective focus? And do you usually not dev your XP2 in C-41 soup?

Hi all,
Thanks for all the wonderful and interesting postcards that I have received from this swap. Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances I have had to move house and have also had a new baby daughter over the last 4 weeks so I have not sent mine out yet - but rest assured that this week I will get a card out to all of you from my new home in the center of the UK (moved away from the coast :().
Watch your mailboxes - Shane

You're welcome!
I actually put clear nail polish on my filter to get the effect . Picking a sky filter that I reuse by cleaning with acetone. & I had the lab process the film for me, in c-41.
-
So glad it made it!
Reached me also! not scratched, just some ink marks from post stamps.
Thanks a lot!

This has been a thrill to receive all the nice cards from (almost) everyone.
If you are still one of the very few who have not sent your cards...please do so we can wrap this thing up.
We don't want this running into the Christmas print circle, so lets hustle folks!
And thanks again to all who joined in, this was one of the best swaps so far with such a high level of creativity and down right coolness with film and cameras.
You guys are smokin' hot!
Becky...your humble post card wrangler.
-
Chricel and Jack, got from you last week, and they are both just great! Thank you so much!
Also got 10 altogether now, including the bonus ones from those not on my list original.

Great :)

OK, I just got a nice card from Sherwood.
Now how the heck do you know about the Calgary flames?

many thanks to sherwood and jenkins for the wonderful black and whites~

/Britt
-
Got a great surprise yesterday two more postcards.
Thanks Paul & Shane.
Both wonderful cards.
-
Apologies to one and all for the delay in sending mine out. The printers didn't cover themselves in glory (had to be sent back to be re-printed), work commitments and then our holiday to Marrakesh all got in the way.
Anyway, hope you like them. You should all have got an Olympic stanp as well (not sure if any of you are philatelists but they're a bit better than the standard UK first class stamps).
Paul.
PS - I've loved every single one of the cards I've received and I'm putting a scrapbook together to keep them all safe.
-
Two more beautiful cards arrived yesterday! Thank you Paul & Shane, they are truly lovely. :)
-
It's time to saddle the horse and wrap this up......
if you haven't sent your cards please get them out soon.
Thanks!
-
Thinking its time for a print exchange so we need to finish this up first prolly?
