new weekend August 16
« on: August 16, 2019, 03:29:40 PM »
last weekend I drove out to Grants, NM to the Sandstone Bluffs.
You can see for miles overlooking the badlands which is partly old lava ooze fields...
Kodak 35mm bulk film tin converted to pinhole with paper dunked in caffenol...my usual poison for the past few years.
I like the circle format...there's no wrong way to hold the tin.

Bought a scanner. No more paying for lab scans = more filmwasting, wheeeeee! Here are two photos from Seacliff Beach; the first is from an Intrepid 4x5, the second from a Mamiya RZ.

Nice shot Becky but I don't remember the term lava ooze fields from when I studied Geology.  ;)

Great pinholes as usual Kevin, I used to make driftwood forts when I was young and I still see them up and down the U.S. West Coast.

Baby Rolleiflex with ReraPan 400 developed in Beer.  These are from a Mercury Mine in Oregon.  That toilet probably hasn't been cleaned since 1968 when the mine shut down.

Lava ooze...it's not a real term, but if you come out here, you can see that is just what happened.....

Very nice pinholes, Becky and Kevin. And Pan-F is one of my absolute faves. Congrats on the scanner Grit, what did you get?

We have some "Lava ooze" up here in the Pacific Northwest.  It makes me laugh because our professors would have a fit if we used non-geologic terms like that.  The best one was the word dirt, they insisted we call it soil.  My wife always asks me "what kind of rock is this", I usually say something like, a round one.  She's not impressed with my Geologic knowledge.

Hey Kai, I got an Epson V850; we had a V700 in the school lab that I no longer have access too, as well as an Imacon they let me use sometimes, but the Imacon is, of course, way more than I need or can pay for! I'm very happy with the V850 so far.

I love all these pinhole photos! The bridge in particular, with its reflection in the water.

I like those pinhole shots a lot. It reminds me that I haven't used any of my pinhole cameras in a very long time.

Very nice shots, especially those pinhole shots.

Here's a shot from Memorial Day here in the U.S. Fuji Provia 100F, Canon Elan 7, 50mm 1.8 with a warming filter.

Andrej, was that taken in Texas somewhere? :D

I, too, love the pinhole shots, and also have not used my pinhole in a little while. I had an idea to use a pinhole as a street camera, set it up for a 7-10 second exposure and get a whole bunch of blurry people :)

Actually is was New Mexico, specifically while sitting in a bar in Santa Fe drinking a margarita. We went out there for a week back in March.

New Mexico and Texas are close enough for this Yankee  ;D

I also love the pinholes. Shots like those do make me want to get out and shoot some. The cowboy shot is ticking the right box too.
I finally developed some 5x4 Delta 100 taken with Linhof last week. I actually remembered to add the bellow factor when getting up close for once.
