Weekend thread 6/7/19

Nature for the win!

This building in west Philly has been vacant for years. The plant on the right has somehow grown through the exterior wall and is now growing inside as well. Sweet.

Nice shot. Talk about perseverance  ;D

I have nothing new to show, however, I have this shot from a year ago when I was testing out my (first) Bronica. HP5+, 75mm 2.8

Damn, "sold out of pie" is a heartbreaker (unless it's rhubarb). Nice photo, though...  Actually, lovely shots all.

Mine is from a trip to Bologna last year. Leica MP, 28mm Elmarit-M (I think) and Ilford XP2 Super.

Hi all. I recently remembered I own a Hasselblad, and even more amazingly I enjoy using it!
So I have something to post instead of just lurking.

I don't think that's something I would forget.  Welcome back and nice shots, what film is that?

Leica IIIf with Tri-X developed in Rodinal 1:50.  The first was with a summitar lens using a Nooky Hesum close-up attachment.  The second one was with a Summaron lens and an orange filter.

Love that first portrait, Nigel!

One of the first test shots with an Old Petzval lens on the Chamonix 45f1. I used Kodak Tmax400. I guesstimated the aperture of the lens (projection lens with a fixed built-in aperture) and it came out slightly underexposed, but still well useable.

Wow, very nice contributions everyone. :) Grit's pie picture, Paul's shot from Bologna and Manuel's alien wood dweller caught my eye.

Here's something from ~3 weeks ago. It's a scene I found in Helsinki. Shot with Canon F-1 on Fomapan 400 w/ orange filter, dev'ed in Caffenol-C-H (RS).

The victory of Jeff's plant punching its way through a wall followed by the defeat of the pie famine. What pathos this weekend! And Bryan developing in a commercial developer? Must have run out of Rainier. Nice shots all. Mine is some roadside squash that seem to have crept under the fence. It'll be nice gleanings for someone this summer.
Shot on the Speed Graphic loaded with Kodak Commercial Internegative @ iso 1-ish. I used an 85B filter since the film is tungsten balanced. There still might be a bit of a blue shift but that could be an effect of the 15 years that have passed since the expiration.

It's fun figuring out how to shoot with a 20mm. Mostly failures but sometimes its strengths show through.

Just had another look at this thread.  Lovely additions. Nigel - you definitely need to use that 'Blad more as those photos are great. Manuel, that splintered tree shot is beautiful - underexposed or not. Christian's brick and bike shot is really nice and I love the zingy colours of James' flower photo. 1 ISO...? I'm also enjoying Bryan, Harvey and Hookstrapped's photos.  It's been a great weekend thread.

strong weekend thread!
Nice mix of cameras and subjects.
Nothing from me, I'm waiting on some color from the lab in town, since my allergies are too bad right now to mess with darkroom color chems.

I have a 21mm lens I need to start using, your shots give me some inspiration.  By the way, it’s been more than a few years since I’ve been to New York but I’m pretty amazed that there’s no cars in that first shot.  Is everyone riding bikes now?

Cars are now illegal and the prisons are overflowing with people who dare to take one out in daylight. It's like a reverse Mad Max here. ;D

Hi Everyone, I'm glad to see that the weekend threads are still going strong  8) Funnily enough I have seen some of these photos on Instagram already, but I have to say it's very nice seeing them on a screen bigger than my phone's.

I shot some expired Polaroid film on Sunday (the 'expired' being a bit redundant these days) on my new 'go to' 100 series compatible camera, the Polaroid EE100 Special. Much as I love my old Land Cameras, and boy I truly love them, I got tired of battling against badly implemented (by me) battery mods that failed just as the spirit of Bresson filled me and the decisive moment arrived. I found out that the EE100 uses AA batteries and I was instantly (see what I did there) sold. I recently bought 100 shots of Polacolor 100 Ultraviolet ID film (exp. 1999) for a ridiculously low price on evilBay and was keen to see whether it had dried out or not. It turns out, not. Happy days.

These have all been converted to monochrome in P'shop as the original colours were VERY blue.

I finally scanned the film I developed yesterday on my odd weekend with something across from a photo shop in ABQ. I had to get a 6x9 holder for the Mamiya Press Universal.
