That’s really cool Becky.  I met Deon and Trish when I was working in Eureka a few years ago.  Back then he was hacking disposable cameras.  I’m sure I explored some of those abandoned buildings when I was there.  The link below is his disposable camera hack.

That sounds like fun Becky, I hope you share your experience with us.  I have several co-workers out there this summer trying to finish the project we started about 5 years ago.  I was there in 2013 and 2014 before I pawned off the project on another manager.  Deon and Trish had a nice studio in town back then, I don’t know if it’s still there, that towns fortunes change with the price of gold.

I've always been a fan of what Craig Stecyk calls"a beautification project"
Sadly there aren't any places around here where you can get away with stuff like that without having a free criminal record to accompany it.

I did try once to beautify a few telephone poles with some Xerox copies and a stapler.... The whole thing lasted less than a day before people ripped it out and put it neatly in the recycling bin.....

That is cool, Becky.

Have you seen Faces Places? I might have shared it here but can't remember. Enormous wheat pasting and cool ideas as well.

I saw that film and loved it. They have a van with wide printer that can output rolls 4 feet wide in black and white, so they can print out the murals in strips on location.

Deon and Trish will be at my place in a few days, so there's no telling what we will get into!  I'll keep you posted!

I firdt heard of Deon thru an Inside Analog Photography Podcast interview.  Great work with the disposables he hacked.

Hey! I'm wondering about something... has any of you ever tried to put up an illegal photo exhibition?
I'm thinking about using a low cost printing technology (no point in investing for something that will be torn down) to put up an impromptu show on abandoned buildings, construction site plywood fences and telephone poles... generally something that can't get you into trouble but still have an element of fun to it?

Deon and Trish are super nice. Just spent the past 2.5 days with them...
Deon had his hacked panorama disposables, and a Holga.

As far as the "illegal" photo show, I've considered that myself..but never done it other than wheat-pasting The Cadillac Ranch... but it's a public "art' kind of place and anything goes.

I kind of figure that telephone poles are the easy way in. When you consider how much junk is stapled onto those, maybe some laser printed card stock would last longer?

Here's his interview.  Check out other film interviews as well...they are all interesting.
