History of the Compass Camera
« on: April 20, 2017, 04:31:33 PM »
The horology site "Hodinkee" has posted a comprehensive history of the Compass Camera: https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/jaeger-lecoultre-compass-camera Hodinkee has some of the best product photography I've seen on the web, as well.

A side benefit of sites like Hodinkee is that they cover products, primarily wristwatches, that make our filmwastering habits and passions a veritable bargain by comparison. The site also has a review of the new Ralph Lauren Minute Repeater watch (basically hours, minutes, and seconds), priced at over $200,000. It's hard to imagine spending that much on photography - cameras, lenses, film, etc. - in a lifetime.
