Not intending to glamourize the brutality of WWI but those pictures are awesome. Both technically and artistically. I think these are some of the best WWI images Ive seen. Good post.

Some incredible pictures there. I was particularly struck by the shot of the soldiers going over the top as artillery is exploding all around and planes are flying low down.  Also the photo of the (I assume) captured Germans. Quite a few of them are smiling. Is it out of relief from being spared having to face that hellish fighting?

Very appropiate a good find at this time. It also makes you think how brave the photographers have to be armed with only a camera especially in those days
