Filmwasters: Collaboration #39 - "My World Is..."
« on: October 25, 2016, 04:24:02 PM »
--------------------------------------------
Theme: ""My World Is..."
--------------------------------------------

We're back for another collaboration and we hope that you're ready to get creative with your interpretation of this particular theme. Remember to please include a sentence or two about why you chose this particular photo. There is no 'time served' rule with these collaborations so don't worry if you only registered with us a week ago. Conversely, if you registered 6 years ago, but haven't visited the site site for the last 5, that doesn't matter either. Join in. The work we receive is always diverse and high-quality and the more people that get involved, the better the resulting gallery will be.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Submission Deadline:  Sunday, 20th November 2016
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Basic requirements:

JPEG Requirements: One JPEG image.  Not larger than 800 pixels in length or width. No more than 200kb.

PLEASE use ONLY your name in the image file (e.g. "Standen Develop.jpg")

**ALSO INCLUDE**

1. A sentence or two about why you chose this particular photo.
2. The camera, process and/or type of film used.
3. Your website or blog address that you'd like listed.

EMAIL SUBMISSIONS to filmwasters [at] gmail.com (please write "My World" in the subject field so we can find them easily in our overflowing mail box).

Regards,
The Filmwasters Team

The obvious would be a portrait of my wife but she refuses, point-blank, to allow me top do this.  Therefore, I'll have to think a bit more sideways-on.....

Didn't think I'd be able to come up with one for the theme I was thinking of, but I bent the rules ever-so-slightly and found one that works  ;)

I was in a similar rut, but then what I did was to just scroll through all my latest "best" images with the theme in mind and one of them popped out as being relevant. YMMV.

That was pretty much my own MO.   ;D

I must admit that this is a hard one. I'm waiting to find the willingness to go to some place for a night shot. But if that doesn't come out as good as I thought, that's pretty much all I'll be stuck with.

A night shot, so you're going for "my world is dark"? ;)

Dammit, now I want to shoot an unlit street on a moonless night at f/32 and 1/2000" and say "my world is completely black" ;D

I have to say that this was one of the only real ideas I had for this difficult subject, but it was at least in part due to the fact that as soon as I saw the opening phrase I couldn't help but think of one of my favorite Rolling Stones songs. Ultimately I rejected the idea, however, as feeling entirely too Yoko Ono.

I got my idea after telling the good lady wife that I was stuck and she reminded of a conversation we had years ago around a similar subject at a friends dinner party and what I said touched her (she doesn't think I'm that deep) and I instantly got it.

I just finished a roll last night. I just hope there's something good on it and that the lab can process it fast enough....
This sure ain't the usual Francois processing speed.

Incredible... I had a hare brained idea, I thought I miscalculated the exposure, I thought the lady at the drugstore misplaced my order (she was new), have been biting my nails for four days before getting the film, paid too much for processing. But in the end it worked!

So mine is in too

Hi All, thanks for all the submissions so far.

I'll almost certainly not get a chance to get the gallery online tonight, but I should have time on Monday....so, if anyone needs an extra 24 hours then go for it.
