A couple more tests with my 4x5 FP100C set-up

I'm finding quite a bit of latitude in the positives produced. I mean, they can be pretty overexposed or underexposed and with adjustments in PS I find the details are in there. A good thing since my shutter is a lens cap connected to my hand -- not the most precise shutter in the world.

Really like the saurated tones in those flowers!
After some epic fails with Polaroid 55 and 57 I have stopped my large format instant attempts for now. Maybe I should re-visit the pack film.

The first film I shot in my recently acquired Brownie Hawkeye showed the lens and glass plate were even more grungy than I'd thought, so after taking the camera apart and cleaning the glass plate at the front, and the lens, I ran another film through and got results better than I'd expected.

More 4x5 Fuji work -- portraits of Satish. It's interesting how low contrast and low saturation the film gets in low light interior situations. I kinda like it but haven't quite found the sweet spot in terms of EV. These were all taken around EV 6-7 with an incident meter, and I boosted the contrast quite a bit. The other test shots I took in my apartment were more like EV 9-10, and the high contrast saturated shot of the rose earlier was EV 11. I think the film is revealing how low contrast those low light situations actually are.

Managed to take some test shots with the Tutone #7 today. Shots turned out fine, I only pushed the XTOL temperature a bit high and got some uneven development.
Tutone with Angulon 90mm6.8 @ f22; Film: Kodak Tmax100 developed in XTOL.

Late Developer: Hey, Paul. I love the Pin Mill shot. Brings back memories as I used to live very close by in Chelmondiston for a couple of years in the late 90's before moving back to London in 2000. I used to love the drive home along the Orwell and cycling down to Pin Mill in the summer evenings, or at weekends.

Thanks Ed, really glad you like it. I rattled off a couple of rolls of Tri-X one morning. Sadly, we arrived half an hour too late as it had been incredibly foggy and had all-but cleared by the time we got there. Also took us a while to find a parking space as it's a very popular spot. We're thinking about making another visit soon as I'm sure it will have a pretty bleak look in mid-winter, especially if there's a bit of frost....

The bridge is scheduled to be replaced by 2018... but it's in such a bad shape that every motorist is scared of it and we all wonder if it will crumble before the new one is finished.
