Weekend 6th - 8th November 2015
« on: November 06, 2015, 07:41:18 AM »
Well it's been pretty foggy in these parts recently so might as well work with what we've got. I stopped off at this lake for 15 mins on my way to work, got the wellies out the car, and shot this on Ektar in a Fujifilm GA6456Zi:

Hehe you could almost think that those two pictures were taken 100 years apart from the same spot as they have pretty much the same perspective ;)

I just developed this roll from a Diana F+, I have now got rid of the camera but this is one of a very few nice ones it delivered  :)

It was shot this summer in the Old Town of Stockholm.

Stellar start everyone. I think I can see something crawling up out of the swamp in Kevin's creepy Ektar shot. I don't know why, but largely greyscale subjects shot on vivid color film like Ektar or Velvia are especially captivating.

Haha Bryan, you have a granite outcrop like Paris has a tower or Egypt has some pointy buildings. :)

Hi gang, a long time since I have posted. Curiously the last time I posted anything was around the same time a rather large home renovation started  ::)

A few pics from the first time I used my holga, and decided to start with a crazy film (Lomochrome)

The weekend thread always provides great inspiration.
Gotta give a hat tip to Kevin, Johan and Andrej. Those shots could grace any gallery wall.

My effort this week was taken on 11th October, during the southern leg of the final UK tour weekend of "Delta Lady" Avro Vulcan XH558, before her being permanently grounded.
I've no doubt there are many thousands of better shots than this, taken on that weekend alone, but it's a historical moment, so that makes it a keeper.

Kentish Cob - cool plane - cool pic. I was at the last flights of 'the other' delta - Concord. For Younger Viewers, when Concorde went out of service, they rounded up 3 of them and they landed sequentially at LHR. So I had 3 attempts. Did I use my sense and take the auto everything di8ital machine? no - I went for  'maximum quality' and took a (manual focus) Leica. Even at landing speeds, by the time the plane was in focus, it was out of frame and needed a re-focus. Messed-up, even with 3 chances. It's one of the few times I've regretted not having an auto everything camera, as back-up, just in case.

So yours is both a keeper & winner!

I haven't been able to do any reasonable photographic work for a while. My cameras just sit on the table and stare at me silently. Fortunately, I have a big stash of negatives from years gone by. Here's one from last year:

Ok, so I shot these pictures back in September, but only got around to developing them today, so that counts, right?
Taken in Rye, with a Seagull TLR loaded with Ektar 100.

The clock's stopped. It was quite a bit later than that, as you can tell by the shadows across the stonework.

Well, if it's going to be Ektar Weekend, I just processed a roll tailing out summer/fall (winter is here, here):

Maybe I should start a series. It's like geocaching without clues. :)

I have a roll of Ektar in my 2x3 Crown Graphic that I'm pushing two stops (first time), but I haven't finished it yet. Dying to see how it turns out.

Really like Kevin´s muted Ektar waterscape

Just got home, and scanned another roll from the GA645Wi (a real Fuji weekend this), shot on expired BW400CN

I think I might make a diptych of these two. Same memorial, one from each side. Tonally they are exact opposites.

Well, I did manage to waste some film over the past week (except for the roll of Pan F that I apparently loaded backwards into the Mamiya 645... :-[  >:( ) but it hasn't been developed yet. I'm also working on a project using the Land Camera, so I did at least take a couple of stand-alone shots that I'll post for this weekend.

Shadows and Leaves by limrodrigues, on Flickr

This one was taken when I was changing the oil in my car last weekend. I was lying on the driveway and staring up at the sky as the oil was draining, and I thought, "Huh, that's kind of a cool shot." Luckily the Land Camera was in the passenger seat so I could easily indulge the urge to shoot :)

I have been away moving into my new digs. Probably wont have much time to do cameras in the next month as I'm taking on a job for Vice on the side. I may end up shooting a lot more with my Polaroid 420 just so I can get some shots.
