Pentacon Six repairs
« on: October 09, 2015, 09:43:03 AM »
My Pentacon Six has just decided to start sticking on 125th & 250th. Can anyone recommend someone who may be able to undertake a CLA on it, preferably in the UK or Europe.

Ta. Paul

Hi Paul.

Sorry to hear that.....

As ever, my starting point is Kryten, the repair guy based at Aperture's shop on Rathbone Place, just off the north side of Oxford Street.  I can't guarantee he'll be able to fix it but I have yet to present him with anything mechanical that he couldn't make work.

Aside from him, I have a friend (a professional photographer and proprietor of a camera shop) based in the next town along from where I live and who has access to a chap who has also done a really good job fixing stuff for me - but he tends to take more time about it. Please let me know if you want me to have a word with him.

Baier Fototechnik in Germany are most likely the most knowledgeable people nowadays. Though this is a German language page, you may be able to decipher that this exact problem is one of the known issues they list on their site, and are able to fix.

It would surprise me if they are not able to communicate with you in English

Many thanks for your replies Paul & Eirik.

In fact I may just send it to Baier Fototechnik (Google translated the page just fine!) as they seem very familiar with the problem.

Cheers guys!

I had mine serviced (and upgraded) at Baier Foto, too. The other place to GDR cameras is Foto Olbrich.
