This thread has been quiet for a while. Took a few shots of my wife’s 1960’s Schwinn Collegiate before I sold it. Leica IIIf using a Summitar lens with a Nooky Hesum closeup attachment. The film is Ilford Pan-F 50+ developed in Beer.

and now something a bit lower on the fidelity curve

my magnifyer lens camera and just some grossly overexposed photopaper with a visible image as is (no development, like those solargraphy cans).
I actually held a workshop showing how one can build a simple camera and do photos like this.

Oddly, I don't think I have a single photo of my own bike.

Often, my first burner pics of the roll are of my front door, sometimes with my bike to the side of it (where it lives when I'm not riding it), but I don't think I've processed any of those photos

Wait, there may have been one on a recent set of doubles, I'll have to check...

Edit: Nope, found the picture I was thinking of, and you can barely see one handlebar

Maybe I have a new photo project now?

Oh yeah, biking season is definitely over here too. There are still a few brave souls who go around with them but freezing temperatures are never fun on a bike.

), I used to bike through the entire winter in Wisconsin, which has winters just as bad, if not worse, than Montreal. Old and foolish me wonders how the hell I did that

I was out maybe a week ago, but that's probably it for a while. I'll do 50F, but below that it won't fly. I usually spend the winter rebuilding one or more of the bikes (I ride old stuff mostly cobbled together out of random free or cheap parts).

I biked to my gig on Saturday. I was not happy doing it, and was even less happy playing outdoors in 40-something degree weather, but there you have it. My bike will be in hibernation for a few months, barring an unseasonably warm day (with global warming, we'll have a bunch of those).

In Germany it's still unnaturally warm. You can skateboard and bike without any problems over here in the Harz Mountains. But it looks like it'll approach 0 °C at the weekend.

AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH flashbacks to my high school marching band days (marching band was a required subject for all music students) playing in snow, sleet, and very much less than 32F weather!!!

Isn't it strange how winter can look so nice but make us so miserable at the same time?

I can't count the number of bits of skin I've frozen when I was a kid. And few people know this but red heads tend to have skin that's both more sensitive to the cold and the heat... Frostbite even got me in the hospital emergency room once when I was a kid. Not fun.

Sometimes, the combination of sh*tty film (out of date, desert stored Gold 200) and sh*tty camera (Vivitar PN2011 point & shoot) comes out really well 😊

That's because it's mathematical.
-1 x -1 = +1
1 crappy camera x 1 crappy film = 1 good image
1 good camera x 1 crappy film = 1 bad image
1 bad camera x 1 good film = 1 bad image

See? it's totally logical

This thread has been dormant since last Halloween! I saw this bike on Balboa pier in Newport Beach, CA. A motor mounted on a Huffy bike, looks safe. Leica IIIf, Summitar lens, Ilford FP4+ developed in beer.

Yeah, these are 2 stroke kits from China.
This makes them quite reminiscent of the late 40's Whizzer bikes.
While they are stinky polluters, they do get very good MPGs
