Weekend 15th-17th May
« on: May 15, 2015, 12:04:54 AM »
It's two minutes past midnight here so we're allowed to get started.

Here are two shots using one of the now fairly-common plastic adaptors to fit 35mm film into medium format cameras (as previously discussed here http://www.filmwasters.com/forum/index.php?topic=7779.0)

The film is redscaled Agfa Vista 200, loaded into an RZ67 with a 50mm lens

Redscaled and it came out blue? Curious.

I'm quite happy to start the weekend this early, because I just dev'd a roll of Ektachrome EPT 160T shot in my WPC, exposed at about EI50 (which I think is way too much for it; 100 would probably be fine).

The Gantrybots Invade Manhattan by Satish Indofunk, on Flickr

(it came out quite purple off of the scanner, so I green-shifted the tint and warmed it up a bit)

Played around with instant film for the first time, this is the only shot I was moderately happy with. All in all, it is a lot of fun.
Also, I wasn't really sure how to go about digitizing it so I just threw it on my flatbed scanner.

I've got to get me a polaroid camera   :)

I thought that by unloading a load of camera gear on fleabay, I would cure my GAS. However........  ;D

A Panasonic c-625af point'n'shoot arrived a couple of weeks back, here's one of my favourites shot last sunday on Poundland Agfa Vista 200.

Thank you, I often have to work my pictures up a bit in Elements, funny thing is that this image is straight off the Asda cd. It's dark and moody (a bit like me, lol) the version taken on the Samurai is completely different.

Wow some great work and some new (to me) faces.

It's been a while but I've finally found another opportunity to shoot film. The shoot was for a local magazine called left lion, the subject was the very talented artist Geoff Litherland. Definitely worth checking out if you like sci-fi or prog rock album covers

Great start to the weekend.  I have a few from a recent trip to Orofino, Idaho.  These were both shot with a Pentax K1000 using expired Portra 400VC, metered at 200.

Hey, looks like we got a 'roid theme going this weekend! I've wasted a lot of B&W lately while waiting for the Generation 2 films to arrive. The Gen. 2 colour films are promising, need to test a them bit more.

Nice start. I particularly like Reinhold's angles, the first one especially.

Just one from a recent hike. Olympus XA4, Kodak Gold 200.

Some really nice shots this week but the standout one, for me, is Diane's pinhole on paper.  Sublime.

I haven't posted for a little while so a couple from our trip to Cumbria just before easter. Hasselblad 503cx, 50mm and 80mm lenses and Fuji Pro 400H

also, gotta love a good window shot. you do well with that yashica 44, tarry! nice feeding it with some old portra

lastly, I feel I can keep staring quite a while on your window shot, irv-b. there's a lot happening in that one!

Thanks, Jonas!  The Portra is from 2009 but it's holding up magnificently well.  I'll be sad when it's gone, but I've only used about 20 feet and it's a 100-foot roll.  I see some Agfa color stock on the bay (in 46mm) but it's a bit older...

Some time ago I bought a few rolls of Rollei Retro 400S. Then I spent half a dozen rolls trying to figure out how to expose and develop it. This one is exposed at EI125 and stand developed in weak Rodinal (4ml Rodinal in 500ml water) for 40 minutes. Red filter makes it look a bit like IR, I think. Still not one of my favourite films:

I agree, Diane´s pinhole is something else. And congratulations Antonio, I too use the Taco-method, works surprisingly well.

My contribution this week is two different captures of some daffodils in the garden. Taken with the same camera and lens, and film; FP100C. However, one is a print scan, the other a negative scan. The latter has been given a border after the fact to approximate a print. Getting the colours right on the neg scan is a b..ch. The lack of an orange mask fools the scanner something awful. Even so, it is quite evident the negative has tonnes more dynamic range than the print (even if the highlights couldn't be saved in this case). The neg was bleached as normal, and then fixed.

And here's an image from me. Shot in 2011 on one of our first days in Grenoble, France. Nothing exciting, but I'm super happy that I got some decent images from C41.

It may well have been, but I think this lends a mystique to the overall image that I appreciate. Plus, wet plate is always near and dear to my heart.

So many great pictures in this thread this week, I can hardly stand it!

I'm sneaking in a shot before the weekend is over. I've been shooting with the Minolta Maxxum a lot lately. Kind of have a project in mind using it...not sure how it's coming along, but we'll see. It's still weird to have a camera with auto advance  :o
