Happy early weekend. (Especially given that I'm working all of it so Thursday and Friday are my actual days off.0 So happy MY weekend I guess. Love that cosplay shot. Have another portrait from me. Street shooting again with the Minolta X-300. This man stands at street corners and blesses them with a bible before walking down them.

My first pinhole.  I removed a bad lens from a Voightlander 116 Roll film camera and replaced it with a pinhole.  I cut down a 4x5 sheet of Ilford Delta 100 to 3.5" x 5" to get it to fit in the camera.  0.5mm pinhole, 135mm focal length, f/270, 7 second exposure.  Semi-Stand developed in Rodinal 1-100 for 1 hour.

Nice Bryan. Since I haven't developed anything this week I might as well post my first pinhole from two years back.

Welcome to Canada... when I heard that the weather was colder than average by 2° this year, I sort of figured out why I don't feel like going out.
When you have a deep freeze-snow storm-deep freeze cycle, it's not fun.

And with all the aqueduct work that's bursting left right and center in the city, traffic is at its worst in decades.

There's an inauguration in town of the graffiti artist from MTL-ZOO. I'd really like to go but I'm afraid the bridges are going to be a mess... it's snowing.

well, MTL is plain hell in winter. This is probably the coldest one here in the last 7 years I've seen.

That's because you've never been to Quebec city in the winter  ;D
There's a ton of jokes I know about the city's infamous weather...

They say the residents love it when it's icy. When they go to work in the morning they can just slide to work and in the evening the wind is there to push them back up the hill.
I also heard a guy who visited some friends in August and told them "I told you you needed to be patient and that your lilacs would bloom one of these days"

Quite the opposite here. 2014 was the warmest year since measuring began, over 150 years ago. I understand the northern hemisphere works like a heat pump, if it's warmer than normal in the North Americas, it's colder here, and vice versa.

Love: the portraits (Cosplay and street blesser). Jame's February spring pic that may make some of my fellow canuck's wistful (but not me I love this cold shit!!). The jet fuel (as I have my weekly coffee haha). And nice pinhole Bryan.

There is more but I will get y guys on Flickr. I have been going through a bit of a dry spell. While I like this weather, -20c does encourage me to leave the camera behind in my outings!

I've been busier these days as well, but I managed to get some film through a few different cameras in the past couple of weeks - including a redscaled roll put through the Zorki for Red Feb. However, none of them have been developed yet  :-\  So here are a couple from a few weeks ago - a roll of...Gold 200, I think?...put through the Minolta Maxxum. (It's still weird for me to have auto focus on a film camera!)

High standards to try to live up to again.
I sometimes think I only come on here to dilute the talent...

Kevin's Isle of Skye shot I especially like, and Irv's abstracts too.

Spent today bimbling around Whitstable harbour trying to teach number 1 son how to see..! (he's chosen photography for his Duke of Edinburgh Award skill). That meant it's been a predominantly digi day. So, I've raided the archive. It's still Whitstable harbour, so kinda vaguely relevant to my day.

I still remember it... thank god for local anesthesia! I'm surprised I still have my jaw firmly in place.

Good thing you planned on taking the rest of the week off. You're going to feel miserable for a few days after and have a hard time speaking clearly.
And if you have the chance to get all four removed in one sitting, do so. I'm glad I did that as I'm not sure I would have returned for the rest.

Thanks. I tend to do cyanotypes with people in them in traditional blue. But often landscape and citiscapes cyanotpes toned darker with coffee. They are a bit organic sometimes unstable, some of my old ones have faded a bit, but can often revived with a quick immersion.

Gah! As if I weren't freaked out enough!  :o  Man, they'd better give me the good painkillers.

I'm getting all four done on Wed because there's no way I'm doing this to myself more than once! And I'm getting knocked out because I just can't handle being awake for this. I've had plenty of dental work done, including root canals, but this is different. I..just...I..no, I can't, I can't be awake. No. Just no.

Don't worry. Mine were stuck under the skin and at a weird angle so it was a bit harder to get them out.
But the procedure is surprisingly painless. The dentist did put more anesthetic in to make sure I was frozen good.
He got all four out in 45 minutes. And they were the hard to get kind.
And even after the effect wears out, it just leaves you feeling miserable.
For me, the worst was the swelling. At first I had a hard time opening my mouth to talk. And after I was stuck with my mouth open because the gums swelled!
I ate jello and chicken soup for a day or two.

But don't worry about it. I think I had the nitrous oxide which is pretty much all he discovered I needed... But this was over 20 years ago... Long time.
