6x6 3D printed pinhole camera
« on: November 06, 2013, 09:40:04 PM »
For those who like 3D printed stuff, here's a new one.
It's a 3D printed 6x6 pinhole camera that looks pretty darn nice.

Here's the link to the site, file and print-on-demand service

Best thing is, you can modify it to your heart's content.
I really need to learn some 3D cad...

Ooooh, useless but fun:

120 Film Spool
http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:44694

It would be interesting to remix this with this:

Kodak 616 to 120 film adapter
http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:8406

...and have just a standard 616 take-up spool for 120 film. I remember passing on a cheap Agfa PD16 a couple of years ago because I didn't want to monkey around with respooling or conversion. Now I'm thinking I need a 3D printer and an Etsy store. ;)

They always have a ton of fun stuff on that site. They even have a DIY SLR plan, an adapter to put Diana F+ lenses on the Konstruktor, pinhole cameras galore... even a huge Leica M!

Try tinkercad.com. It's free and pretty easy to use.

Here's a Bay III hood I did with it.

I tried my hand at Sketchup. While it's pretty good, it's still not that easy.
I also tried 123D from Autodesk. It's very nice but chokes on my old computer.

Figured I'd resurrect this relevant thread rather than start a whole new one.

I recently got my hands on the 3D printed P6*6 camera referenced above & got the results back! I used some expired Kodak Plus-X 125.

Image is what I expected from a needle-through-a-soda-can pinhole, but using the camera itself was great. I like the shutter mechanism and the final product is extremely compact—I think it might be one of the smallest 120 cameras around!

Here's the camera itself:

All in all, I'm very excited by the possibilities here & I'm going to work on a finer pinhole situation. Also, the designer is an awesome dude, give him a twitter follow https://twitter.com/theschlem
