Ah, I'm sorry for the confusion... I did not sent any PMs since I first wanted to check if I have anything to offer. And since this goes on first come first serve basis, feel free to jump on that one - I'm sure this isn't the last interesting camera here.

I am perfectly willing to hold it for you Andrej while you look through the attic. I just wasn't sure on protocol. Probably the safest bet is to send a PM to that effect and then if you find that you don't have anything to offer, let me know and I will go to the next PM or re-post on the thread. But I'm a noob at this so if the mods have different rules, we should defer to them.

Do we have takers for the Olympus Mju and the Miranda?

Here are the specs for the Mju
Quote
The Olympus µ[mju:] (US: ∞ Stylus) was a fully automatic 35mm compact camera introduced by Olympus in 1991. The Stylus was the first model in the hugely successful Olympus mju/Stylus series, selling 5 million on its own[1].

Evolved by camera designer Maitani Yoshihisa[2] from his Olympus XA design, the µ[mju:] was very small and curvy, with an integrated lens cover. It is switched on by shifting the lens cover to one side.

Some versions of the mju actually say µ[mju:]-1 on the front.[3]

The technological specifications of this camera formed the basis of a retro-styled limited edition "concept" camera called the Ecru.
Specifications

    Lens: 35mm, f/3.5 (3 elements in 3 groups).
Active multi-beam autofocus with 100-steps for a huge range of distances. Pre-focus lock enabled.
    Film format: 35mm DX-coded film, ISO 50-3200.
Automatic exposure with shutter speeds of 1/15-1/500s.
    Self-timer.
    Film advance: Autowind and rewind.
Integrated flash with four modes: Auto, red eye reduction, fill-in, disabled.
LCD with battery check and frame counter.
    Tripod Mount.
    Power: 3V lithium CR123A.

And for the Miranda
Quote
The Miranda Sensomat is a 35mm SLR launched in 1969. The Sensomat had TTL CdS stop-down meter built-in the under mirror; an advanced feature for its day. At the time it was known as the poor man's Nikon F as it sported a removable prism like the F. The Sensomat sold reasonably well as a budget SLR during the 70's.

The exposure meter is based on a TTL CdS sensor with a measuring of 1.6 to 18 EV (ISO 100 f/1.8). It has a sensitivity 25 to 1600 ASA. The meter is operated by the two buttons next to lens throat. A metering needle can be seen in the right side of the view finder. It is powered by a PX675 mercury battery.

The shutter is a focal plane design with speeds of 1 to 1/1000 with bulb. The shutter releases can be triggered on top as well as the front of the body. Flash sync is available at with terminals on the front of the body for both FP (top) and X (bottom) PC terminals. Electronics sync is at a maximum of 1/45 of a sec.
(quotes from Camera-wiki.org)

The Mju is said to be like the XA, only with a much sharper lens and good automation.
And the Miranda was the poor man's Nikon F. And since production has stopped a while ago, lenses are bound to be dirt cheap.

Come on people!
We have two nice pieces of gear waiting for some love.

I might have to get a ruling from Francois, but I think Urban was the first to make a 'claim' after Andrej released his 'interest'. I still haven't received an address from anyone in my inbox. I think the problem here is that everyone is so nice and polite on this forum that no one wants to step on any toes! :) Unless Francois has another opinion, I will say that Urban has the option on the Miranda currently, but if I don't hear from him in the next day or so, I will let it go to Diane. Sound fair?

The front shutter release is da bomb! I wish all 35mm SLRs came with one! You can have a cable release attached up top and still shoot at eye level using the front release. It is over all a much more ergonomic setup.

OK, We still have Verian's Olympus Mju on the block. It's the same as the Stylus Epic if I remember correctly. If you have to own a cult camera, this is the chance to get one! Take some time to check out what it can do on Flickr and I'm sure you'll be rushing at the door to get one!
http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=olympus+stylus+epic
http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=olympus%20mju

Now, the Praktica BC1 is a nice camera. It was produced starting in 1982 and runs on 4xLR44 cells. It also features an automatic aperture priority exposure mode which give constantly variable electronically controlled shutter speeds. The camera is similar to the Jenaflex AM1 and uses the Praktica B mount that has electronic contacts for the aperture control. It has a single fully mechanical speed at 1/90 in case the batteries fail (just like the Nikon FE).

Francois, maybe it has been a long week (or I ate to much leftover candy today), but I cannot figure out what is out there these days? I think I got confused when mju cameras started reproducing  ;)

Can you give us an update of what is out there? (Says the guy with TinTin's old Canonet 21 that may find a new home if things get interesting...)

Excellent! Thank you. Pm me the details.

I'm going to offer an unopened block of 10 packs of 35mm Fuji superia 200asa film. Only 12 shots per roll, which can be great for testing new cameras or half frames. Expired 04/2012 but cold stored its entire life.

Hope someone can make use of it!

Don't forget, this is a chain of exchanges, not a free for all (read first message).

So, if I'm correct, Yglotte's kit goes to Chalky.

And we now have
-Verian's Mju1
-Diane's Praktica (which is still available if Chricel changes her mind)
-Chalky's 10 rolls of 35mm Superia 200 ISO.

I'll bite, Chricel! I always wanted to try an SX-70. I'll PM you about postage.

I'm posting this for my phone so I can't post images right now. I'm offering a Canon AF35ML. A point and shoot with a F/2 lens! I haven't tried it but it seems to work just fine. But the light seals need replacing.

Chricel's SX-70 goes to Urban
Yglotte's SX-70 kit goes to Chalky
Chalky's film goes to Yglotte

So... It Yglotte and Urban's time to put something up.

Yay, the confusion has set in ;) That's for keeping an eye on everything Francois. But I did put up something (images to follow later):

A Canon AF35ML which to my knowledge is the only point & shoot camera with a f/2 lens. It seems to work find (I haven't shot a roll), but the light seals need to be replaced.

Verian's cult classic Olympus Mju
Urban's Canon AF35ML

That canon looks quite interesting. Don't let its looks fool you, I'm sure it can be a very serious contender. I have a Fuji with similar looks and let me tell you that the knurled grip is really nice!

Here's what camera-wiki says about Urban's Canon
Quote
Made in 1981 by Canon and also known as the Super Sure Shot (US) and Autoboy Super (Japan), the AF35ML was the second in Canon's Sure Shot series and became the compact camera of choice for professionals who wanted to shoot in low-light, since it has a large 1.9 aperture lens.

The shutter button can be held down and able to expose at approx. 1 fps. without flash. A beep will occur if the camera shakes. This happens most often during slow shutter speeds where the camera need to be steady.

The camera features a CCD based auto focus system. The auto focusing mode is shown on the viewfinder. Three different LED modes are shown on the left; portrait, group and mountain. Focus lock can also be done by pressing the shutter half way. If a mode is not lit the AF system may be confused and exposure will most likely not be in focus. Common problematic focusing situations include subjects without vertical lines, solid coloured objects, subject with objects in front, back lite or reflective subjets.

The camera uses two common AA batteries, with a life of 30 (36 exp.) rolls or 5 rolls when using flash with every exposure. The flash in up position will also reduce the battery. A battery check mode is available by turning the mode dial to b.c. Eight beeps per second means the batteries are okay. Slower bps means battery replacement is needed.

At the end of the film roll the camera will emit an electronic beep. To rewind the film back into the canister; on the base of the camera, press and hold the round silver button and slide the rewind switch.

Specifications

    Lens: 40mm f/1.9 (5 elements in 5 groups).
Focus: Passive triangulation system autofocus (uses CCD) with pre-focus lock, instead of Canon's usual near-infrared system for compacts. 0.9m min. focus distance.
    Electromagnetic programmed shutter. EV 4 (f/1.9 at 1/4 sec.) - 17 (f/18 at 1/400 sec.)
    Under-exposure warning beep.
Reversed Galilean viewfinder with projected frames, zone focusing marks for near, medium, and far distances parallax correction marks and LED warnings.
Film speed settings of ISO 25-400 or 25-1000.
Integral flash (guide No. 11 at ISO 100 in meters).
    48mm Screw-in filter thread.
Film transport: Automatic advance and rewind.
    Power: Two 1.5V AA batteries.
    Dimensions and weight: 122 x 73 x 55 mm, 440 g (with batteries).

Fiatlux: sorry but I'll have to act as a mean moderator and enforce the rules... Please read the first message on the procedure and rules of the game. I've already let two chains of exchange go ahead and it's getting pretty hard to follow for me.

What I'll do is drum up the present offers for a few days. If there isn't any takers, I'll possibly reset the thread and get it going again on new offers. Then you can post the camera and we'll see if there are any takers...

Right now, it's still only Verian's Mju and Urban's Canon.

I know they might only be point and shoots but I can't believe people aren't going for them. The Mju is really very good. Think of it a bit like a modern trip 35 mixed with an XA. You get sharpness and great contrast. It's also very discrete and small.

And there's Urban's Canon. It might be bulkier but it's got a very luminous lens for a point & shoot. When all others struggle to get lens openings below f/3.5, this one gets a fantastic f/1.9! This is SLR territory right there. But having a viewfinder guarantees that the view will always be bright. I believe it could prove to be a perfect nighttime street shooting camera.

Might have a look tonight at what else I have in the cabinet and swap out the MJU for something else.

Although I do not know why someone had not snapped up Verian's camera as the mju is mighty nice. I have one or I would snap it up.

I blame this on the XA-LCA hype. A lot of great cameras that would fit into the same category don't get the same popularity as those two take all the place.

Fiatlux: sorry but I'll have to act as a mean moderator and enforce the rules... Please read the first message on the procedure and rules of the game. I've already let two chains of exchange go ahead and it's getting pretty hard to follow for me.

Quite alright Francois, I guess I misunderstood and yes, I can repost it when necessary!  :)
