If I get time, and one doesn't turn up by tonight, I might have a go at a poster.

I have a few ideas, I just need to figure out how to make them work.

Those were the days where you couldn't get a Holga in the whole of Canada!

I was going to see if there were any updates to the Junkstore camera site on a regular basis.
I also wished I could take those whimsical and soft images some of you took... but somehow, I just couldn't get away from my hard-edge super tight graphical compositions. Even when I got a Holga, I just couldn't make images as romantic as some of you.

At the risk of starting one of those unanswerable threads and having rotten vegetables thrown at my head, I'd like to ask the question; what defines a toy camera? It seems that Diana's and Holgas lay firmly in the toy realm, but what about some of the Lomography offerings like the Sprocket Rocket? Does any fully manual plasticam count? Can a homemade camera be construed as a toy camera or does it have to be a manufactured camera?

99% of the Lomography offering is in the toy camera world.

Ya I think very few lomo cameras are not toys - only things like the LCA and such and that probably does work out to only 1% of their sales.

I first heard about toy cameras over ten years ago when a friend got into them and told me the term. The term confused me tho because the toy camera my friend had was literally a "toy" it was some goofy looking Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle product. So for years I thought a toy camera had to be something made for kids bought in the toy section haha.

But iI is a fuzzy line as to what is a toy camera. If I have a crappy 110 camera that was some dumb promotional giveaway that kids could mail in cereal boxtops for, I would consider that a toy camera. But I am not sure if I would consider my instamatic 10 a toy camera even tho is may not be that much better. I will not worry about that fuzzy line and dust off the holga I bought a while ago and shoot it for the first time tomorrow!!!

I dont really technically consider a "holga" a toy camera, but it did become one. But the Diana is indeed a toy camera from the start.

Ah well, I had been going to use the Lubitel today but the gears slipped on the lenses when i was checking it out so now they're out of alignment. Probably fixable, but a load of faff. After thinking i could use the Holga but really that's a bit obvious I figured my Seagull 4B-1 had to count as a toy camera. It's made in China and Lomography sell them for insane prices, ergo they're tat!

So having put in a roll of Kodak TMax 100 (the only medium format film I'd got) I headed out...

I do like a nice Morris Minor, you can even make out where the trafficators used to be on this one.
