I lived in Istanbul for three years and had my Pentax with me (at the time, it was my only camera) but I didn't really take a lot of pictures. I think I was a little too traumatized at first, and after that, most of my energy was spent on trying to adjust. It kills me now when I think of the pictures I could have taken, not only in Istanbul but almost anywhere in Turkey (well, maybe not Ankara. It's a fairly drab, uninspiring city.) I haven't been back since I left in 2001 - not for lack of desire, but of opportunity and funds - but whenever I go back (and I do intend to), I'm definitely going back a big supply of film!
For landscapes, I tend to prefer ocean shots, so I'd say I'd like to shoot in any country with a coastline. Chile comes to mind, as does Thailand or Vietnam. For people or street? Well, that's anywhere, really!
