Yesterday morning arrived my new toy, a Rolleiflex 2.8gx, I tried it yesterday evening and developed yesterday night... I took few snapshots to check if everything was working OK. yes, everything was working OK, I used the in camera light-meter.
The camera is in mint condition and, amongst other reasons, I bought it to find out if the 2.8gx was as bad as they said. First impression, quality, nothing to say, as good as my 2.8e, feeling, everything works with precision, but it´s true the shutter could be smoother, on the other hand it could be due to the fact that the camera has barely been used, the same goes for the focusing knob, but this I am getting more and more comfortable with it. The flare I was getting with the 2.8e is gone, good, I have the hood but I never use it. The multicoating does not seem to affect much the final result, may be the shots are a bit more contrasty, but not much. The screen is brighter and other than that is just an updated and hopefully reliable Rolleiflex. A mint Rolleiflex 2.8gx is expensive but I dare to say less expensive that a mint 2.8f one. on the other hand people seems to preffer the 2.8f, which, aesthetically, I agree is more appealing.
Alma´s shot (dim light), yes, she is painting her nails, is unedited, just barely sharpened.
