The weekend. April 20 edition.
« on: April 20, 2018, 02:25:10 PM »
Hi all and happy Friday. I'm kicking things off with two pics that have nothing to do with one another, aside from being on the same roll of film from last weekend. It's the new/old Kodak P3200, and so far I like it. It'll take some practice but that's the fun part.

Happy weekend to all.

I have color, of all things. Finally got a bunch of rolls from the last few months developed (tried a new lab - Northeast Photographic - that did a nice job with the developing and scans).

Any man who can see what he wants to get on film will usually find some way to get it;
and a man who thinks his equipment is going to see for him is not going to get much of anything.

Ohh! Flamingos! I'm such a sucker for those :)

Here are some of the latest ice storm we had... on Monday.
All with my trusty Nikon F90x. Good thing the buttons are sealed against moisture.

Some of my favorite things:  coffee shops, icicles, and pink flamingos. (Well, pink flamingos not so much, but I like the photo of them.)

Great start to the weekend.

Here are a couple from a roll of Ektachrome (exp. 1981) I shot in my flipped Argus Super Seventy-five. First on a cloudy day, then on a sunny day. Dev'd in DIY C-41.

Brilliant contributions everyone. Especially François' landscape shots and Kai's Pentacon Six shots caught my eye. Well done!

I've only got some tree details to contribute today. Zenza Bronica SQ-A, Fomapan 100, Caffenol.

Thanks :)
I was really surprised to see how these came out as it was so dull outside and I just felt miserable before going out. But at one point I said I'd better enjoy the moment.
I also tried to get a few flash photos that failed miserably. Note to self: flash units and rain don't mix  ::)

Jeff, I really like that candid shot of the women...very nice!

Mine's a Holga shot made with Tri-x and sloshed in caffenol.
This is Canyon de Chelly in Arizona not too far from the Four Corners area. It's a surreal place and not terribly far from Monument Valley and Shiprock...as the crow flies.

Went out on Friday to give the just acquired Leica iiif a test run, with a roll of Film Ferrania P30. Developed in R09 as per the V2.0 PDF from the P30 page on the Film Ferrania website.

Really need to get some filters if I'm going to shoot more BW in that.

I think I can see a small box that says ACME down there ;)

Holgas work very well for you, Becky.  :-)

Those two women are dancers, and I'm collaborating with them on a photographic project that will be wrapped up by September. It's a new experience for me and I'm having fun learning.

Super envious of the landscape down there. It's quite surreal indeed.

Thanks, CS! I'm afraid the Pentacon does not see as much use as it deserves, it's a very nice camera to work with. And here is a free tip to all Pentacon users: If you shoot frame zero you will get 13 shots on a roll of 120 film!  :)

Wonderful contributions all round, my favorites being James' first shot, and EarlJam's grandson's. I am slowly converting my niece into a filmwaster by introducing her to the instant magic of Polaroid SX70s :D

So it seems spring has finally sprung, or at least the magnolia trees around here are responding to the lengthier days by bursting out in flower :) Shot on Fuji T64 at ISO40 and processed in C41 (normal).

Love Becky's Arizona landscape... Something about the Holga that loads an image with atmosphere.

AJ, that looks like Bexhill, if I'm not mistaken?

A little late to the party. I spent last week in San Francisco for work, and most of my shots were taken on digital due to convenience and time constraints. However, I did manage to shoot a few frames with film.

This one was from the terrace of a coworker's apartment. Kodak Portra 400 and a cheap polarizer filter (which causes color shifts, I've found) on the 50mm 1.8 Canon (EF)
