Another year and another Photographica over and done with.
As per usual the event was well attended but IMHO seemed not as busy (which was nice!) as previous years?... It didn't take me long to spot the Ilford stand and managed to introduce myself to Steven Brierley who recognised me from the latest FW Video Podacast, fame! Had a long discussion regarding the concept and development of the new Obscura... and lots of exciting derivatives and additions in the pipeline too! I also managed to have a chat with the lovely ladies on the Silverprint stand regarding their move to new and bigger premises, I also found out that they are planning a return to opening on a Saturday! Yay!
Apart from a slight altercation with a MOG (apologies to Moiz for having to put up with me uttering few profanities!) it was a fairly relaxed affair and thought that there were some quality equipment on sale this year, was even tempted by a very nice Hassy SWC but my budget didn't stretch that far.
Great to catch up again with LD (Paul), Lara, Thil & the lovely lady who's name I always forget!, Dave, Miller, Sandeha, Moiz and Brian May (yes he was there!! and stood next to him at one point!).
During the last few minutes of this years visit I did succumb to a very nice Pentacon Six. It is the non TL version but as I tend to use a meter (even with a digital SLR!) it doesn't bother me. It also features the older Zeiss 'Zebra" lens. I've seen lots of beat up versions but this is MINT! There's not a mark on it and it came with the original box! Looking forward to test driving this camera
