I just discovered the art of Thomas Kellner.
He makes photomosaics of famous places by shooting panoramas and then putting the strips of film together.

I'm impressed with these, particularly the one of Brooklyn Bridge and the Marina Towers...but I'm frankly envious of the amount of film he's able to waste on individual projects...is there a ban on posts that make us sick with envy?

What I've always wondered and Francois you're probably just the man to answer this ( or I suppose I could just try it). If you want to take an panorama like that do you start at the left and shoot to the right? Or is it reversed? I tried to work it out once but the upside down, back to front thing have me a headache!

Right I'm going to try that - maybe with slightly less film than he used!

Like Becky said, unless your camera has the cassette on the right or pre-winds the film.
If done backwards, you must either say it's Dada or cut all the little frames and paste them back in the correct order

I try to remember: turn in the direction that you wind your film. works for me
vivitar uws is a typical lefty while most other cameras I have go right.

jojonas - I love that half-frame shot. I really don't need to be encouraged into the world of half-frame, it takes me a month to finish a film as it is.

simple cure= 360 degrees panoramas! you'll be sure to waste film fast then
