This thread caused me to take a couple of days and inventory my cameras. It was frightening to see the number blast well past 125, not including the 20 or so homemade pinholes and the digital stuff! I vaguely was aware I had quite a few in the cabinets, shelves, and closets, but I think it’s gotten a bit out of hand! So, I am in the process of divesting myself of most of them, but I hope to hold on to at least these:
Nikon N90S
Nikon F100
Mamiya 7II
Yashica Mat
Leica IIIC
Holga Collection – 120N, 120 Panorama, 120 Pinhole, etc
Vintage Dianas and their clones – Valiant, Zodiac, etc
Ansco Speedex
Agfa Isolette
Ricoh 35 Rangefinder
That should keep me in the 15-20 camera range, which should be much more manageable! (I’ll still have 10-20 homemade pinhole cameras as well as a D700 and D800 for digital, but the rest are all film!)
Thanks for posting this! It really did help me get organized and focused on a more manageable number of film bodies to choose from! If I had to choose just one to keep from the downsized list, it would be the Mamiya 7II. That is one fine setup! And the lenses are superb! But if I was to keep others, they'd be the Leica, and the F100, and the Yashica Mat, and...
