In addition to the new "Silvermax", seems like they have plans to release an ISO 400 film - in multi formats from 110 to 8"x10" (though no sign of 127).

tbh i found that page a bit confusing

pan 400 is out of stock but they are releasing a new line APX400 . . . is that it?

Well, if they're not intending to launch a new ISO 400 film, they could do worse than manage people's expectations and delete the page I posted.

The Adox 400 is based on the formulation of the Agfa APX 400, its emulsion is a little bit faster and anti-halation layer a bit better, it will be manufactured in Germany.
The big problem is, that it isn't possible for Adox to manufacture it at a competitive price at the moment. The 400ASA black and white range of films is still the most competitive section of the market,
we have TMY, TX, BW400CN, HP5+, Delta 400, XP2+, Fomapan 400 and even Fuji will continue to produce the Neopan 400. Actually there is no need of another 400ASA B/W film.

I agree. We don't "need" another 400 ISO B&W film but variety is the spice of life and something that offers a different "look" is always welcome.

I have some, it was a 'first flush' from 2010 (like a software alpha) the speed is closer to 200ISO apparently. They have shelved plans to introduce it because of Silvermax.
I think the reasoning was Adox wanted to make a film based on APX technology made by former Agfa employees, there is so much APX 100 in supply and at the time Adox had CHS Art 100 so they went for 400

I picked up some Pan 400 at Silverprint a month or two ago, if that's the stuff made recently - it had a misprint on the labels, saying that it was C41 which apparently it is not, so was cheap. I have shot a couple of rolls of it but it seems to need an awfully long time to develop. The first one I guessed at about 6:30 in LC29 which was much too short, and for the second I increased that by about 50% (or at least bumped the temperature to the equivalent of 50% longer) and that was still not enough.

eta: the above might make sense if it was actually better shot at 200 or lower
