Weekend 15-16 September 2012
« on: September 13, 2012, 01:25:46 PM »
Still working on my backlog. This time some shots from exactly one year ago. On the farmers market in Grenoble, France. Also, I need to get my Yashica Mat CLAd.

Those polaroids from moominsean is this far what stands out to me. The b/w one is just wow.

One from last weekend. The fall is a nature photography heaven.

Beautiful Lund,

Two Polas from my side shot some time ago. I have one month left in Sudan and I don´t see myself with the stamina to roam around and shoot. What I have shot so far will have to be enough for my project People of Khartoum, still I have some few more Polas to scan  ::)

First one is close to my place, which is really lacking and photo interest I would say. I saw this Gentleman walking towards me and I convinced him to be photographed with both the Pola and the Rollei.

The second one is at a popular market, a coal stall.

Great work from all so far. Love Urban's second shot and Lund's roots. Calbisu - just stunning polas...

Mine is a bit of a still life study, taken at Sissinghurst, National Trust property in Kent.

For those unfamiliar with the National Trust, it's a "trust" that manages properties of historical / architectural significance left to the nation as a result of death of the owners or the owner's inability to finance running of it, etc.

For the most part, they're an okay bunch but they can be a PITA when it comes to taking photos inside the properties. This one allows photos but no flash and no tripods (well, they have guide books to sell, you know....!). My Mamiya 7, 43mm lens and a roll of Kodak Portra 400 coped quite well.

Catching up slowly with scanning films from a trip to North Wales a month ago.  As usual too many things to do, too little time.

Some great weekend threads lately.  This week I am particularly liking Urban's market shots and Lund's trees.

Happy weekend.  Nick

Lund, Hope you won't mind me saying but that bokeh is yuk to my eyes. It's the same as I've been getting with my 80/1.9 and confirms it's a feature of the lens. I think mine's going back on ebay and I'll stick with the 2.8.

We have gone from drought to being washed away. Tail-end of some Hurricane caught us here. But still time for a stroll to the beach with the Viv UW&S loaded with expired HP5 and then stand developed in Promicrol 1:50. Because I can.

Yeah, it's harsh and strange, atleast wide open. Sometimes it works great. I kind of like it. Looks like the image disintegrates rather than fade away. Judged against what is usually preferred in bokeh...yep. it's terrible.

Urban--you've been neglecting those negs too long!  Some wonderful Paris shots there.
All of which of course making think how much I love shooting black and white, but here are some color shots I made last week.  Trying out an expired roll of Portra NC in the Bronica.

- mab, johan, miller this is a shout out to you guys! :)

oh, and calbisu. either I'm warming up to your style or you have been developing it recently. me gusta!

here's two from me. same outing from last weekend as lund.

first is holga, HP5 rodinal 1+100 stand (I tried using the same dev to develop two rolls of 35mm. the first was perfectly fine so I decided to try another but I let that stand the whole night. a bit brown in some places but still perfectly usable negs)

second is the same old stunning 6x9 pinhole camera, this one fed with lomo redscale XR. about a minutes exposure in partly cloudy conditions.

Jojonas, fantastic, full of symbolism, whatever it means, just great!
Gregor, beautiful.

One more shot from me, one family Pola from few months ago in the family park close to our place.

Khartoum it´s a bit shaky right now, they set in fire German embassy and attacked the UK and US embassies. Tomorrow more anti western demonstrations are expected, so a low profile for a while  8)
