My Very First Gum Print!
« on: August 29, 2012, 04:59:21 PM »
This past weekend I had the opportunity to study one-on-one with film/alt process photographer, Diana Bloomfield.  She taught me gum printing.  I used some of my Holga images that I made on a photo walk last year.  Its an image of the North Carolina State Capital building.  This gum print is the very first and my favorite of the day!  I am now anxiously awaiting the arrival of packages from Photographer's Formulary and Daniel Smith Art Supplies  ;D

It's pretty sweet when a plan comes together like that!

I think all the superlatives have been used up... suffice to say I wish I had done it

Excellent! I tried gum printing a year or two ago, it is truly one of the most demanding alt processes.. Due to many reasons I abandoned it (for time being).  I wish you that all your prints in the future would be at least as good as this one.
Website of sorts, as well as ipernity thing.

Thanks everyone for your kinds words!

Its so wonderful to be able to come here with something that is so exciting (to me) and not be met with quizzical looks and the ever-ominous question, "Why _ _ _".  My digital friends think I'm nuts.

My usual answer to such questions is usually "why not?"

Christine, it would seem that it is your digital friends that are nuts!

Lovely work.
