Refuse collectors from Hamburg took part in an art project.
They used a modified trash container as a pinhole camera and photographed their favourite places in the city..

Well, if you like your images to be "trashy", this is the perfect way to do it

I need one of those...

I've been trying to figure out how to make a pinhole trash can camera from one of those trash bins that you step on a lever and the lid pops up.  
Seems a step on shutter would be very cool!

Becky--eminently do-able.  You'd just need a hacksaw and a plate that could mask the pinhole and maybe a spring to make sure the shutter closed when you took your foot off the pedal.  And a track for the shutter to run in.  Take a couple of hours...

Or, better yet, you could make it like a movie camera shutter and have it rotate on a pin.   Lots of ways to make it work.

Finally i found some technical information:
Paper size was 106 x 80 cm, mounted on a Forex board.
To put the "holder" into the container, they used a light-tight Mercedes "Sprinter".
