Well, here in Sudan the weekend (Friday and Saturday) starts on Thursday, so... here it comes

I am working in a Book that it will be named, People of Khartoum, Yes, title is not very original. The book will be divided in two, People of Khartoum with a polaroid and People of Khartoum with a Rolleiflex. The goal is to have 80 pictures, 40 from each camera. Polaroid shots will be color, Polaroid 108, for the Rolleiflex, Kodax Tmax 400. You will be able to start the book from one side with the Rolleiflex, flip it down and the book will start with the Polaroid.. Usually I shoot the same scene, person, with two different cameras (Polaroid and Rolleiflex), so I think it can be ¨curious¨ to see the same object with different cameras. Pursuing this project has helped me to have a goal when shooting, shooting with specific film and cameras, as well as focusing on same theme, portraits. I will be in Khartoum until the end of October. After that I guess I will need few months to finish the project, so I envision the book in little less than one year

I got quite used to the Fri/Sat weekend in Oman so here's a couple of reminders from a few years back ...

The echoes across a valley could sometimes be astonishingly beautiful, but the one thing I won't miss is the tannoy from the mosque at five in the morning.

Yes, the mosque at 5.00am is quite revealing. I had been in other arab countries and the difference here is that sometimes they just not make the call but the whole praying that can last up to one hour, and that is quite a thing...

Here's another long exposure solargraph from me. This one was started in January and ended this afternoon. It looks like I need to tweak the angle just a bit higher and more west to capture a full 365 day cycle...

Just a few shadows on a wall.... Hasselblad 500cm with 80mm Planar. Ilford FP4 developed in ID11.

The one with the cat that says mi-août (a wordplay between the the words mid-August and a cat saying Meow!) has so much grain on the original scan you'd think somebody at Fuji sprinkled pepper on the film...

What I like is that on the negative, you can see some interference patterns in the flare... very geeky

The grain seems amazingly large for some Acros 100 processed in HC-110 dil.B for 5 minutes...

Hi all, great images to enjoy as usual. I particularly like Becky's solargraphs because they aren't stopping time like photographs usually do. It's so interesting to see what happens with the sun's arc.

From today walk in a gale on the moor. The sun came despite the high winds and hail-showers. Wrestled the OM-1 with Delta100 rated at 400 [because that's what I thought it was]. Sloshed in Rodinal.

thanks aoulain. i dont know why they are like that.. i think Walgreens might have something to do with it. I shot at f/16 ish the whole time. i don't understand where all that dust came from either since i scanned a roll of self dev'd arista premium and there was hardly any dust on them at all.

Come to think of it, feels like solargraphy is an area where digital is never going. Just think of all those batteries that would need changing

From my darkroom this week. Two prints, both printed on Fomatone MG Classic paper (Matt 132).

Lith print. I find it really hard getting a good representative scan from a print like this. The print doesn't quit fit in the scanner so the discolouration (a real word?) at the top is the scanners fault.

not sure if thats a good thing or a bad thing

..My brother has even more treasures in his garage..including a 1946 Harley..I think he has it insured for 100 grand due to the paint job and all the work he has done..he has even shipped it to Alaska when he works up there!! strange man!!
