Framing in NY
« on: October 03, 2011, 06:32:56 PM »
Afternoon,   So I have been accepted into a show in NYC...which im very happy about...although clearly was not over thinking this as now I have to get a framed print to NYC?  (im a gazillion miles away in UK)

so....how do I do this?   print, frame and post to USA?

or...is there anyone in the US that could arrange cheap framing and delivery and ill paypal the benjamins?

I really should have thought this through.....

Have you looked into the cost of shipping? I ship stuff to the UK all the time and it's not as expensive as you'd think. You're probably better off getting it framed the way you want then shipping it completed.

Have you checked with the gallery/place showing the work about framing.
I've had galleries frame my work that were hosting.
They had temporary frames just for that reason.
All I had to do was supply the print.   :)

If there are no restrictions. Use plexiglass instead of glass.  Less weight for postage & break free .
I agree , frame how you want it to look & then ship.

Damion, can you give us dates for the show?  Might want to go along and see it...

It's oct 19th or 20th until nov 3rd.  If you do go can you try and get a picture of my picture.  Double points for donning a bald wig and pretending to be me.

Damion,
I went to the gallery on Friday as planned and shot some frames of your photo on the wall, souped the roll and was getting ready to scan it Saturday night when the electricity went out.  We finally got it back this morning about 5.00, so I'll resume scanning tonight after work.  Sorry about the delay.  PM me with an email and I'll send the scans to you.

PS, the nice lady in the gallery said that they're the NYC venue for the Vivian Maier show, so I'll be going back there soon!
