Weekend, month end, Sep 30 - Oct 2.
« on: September 30, 2011, 06:23:07 AM »
If I may lead off.  These were a few I shot last Sunday, at the beginning of this warm weather spell.  A couple of hours on the beach did some good, but so too did my restocking with Pan F.

I do like this film, in Rodinal.

Great beach shots, Sandeha - especially like the first - lovely light on the pebbles and surf.  Getting to the coast is perfect for recharging your batteries.  Did the same myself last week - photo taken at Brancaster on the North Norfolk - Bronica ETRSi, HP5, Aculux 3.

Polaroid 600 1/15, f4.7 little bit underexposed on expired 125i.... Hell that film smells like old fish barbecued on an old oil-drum ::)

and so it begins! ;D I've been looking forward to this weekend, hopefully I should have more from my toycamera walk with friends last week~

sandeha: good start :) I specially like the stones. all them round shapes give an interesting pattern.

grey: very well exposed shot~ an interesting subject and landscape combo for sure. was the water far off from that? place looks deserted

kayjay: hello, camera face! don't mind the smell, those colours are fab~
and good hand, holding that on 1/15 like that :o

grey: Big like, great scene though the horizon being off distracted it a bit.

hi all, happy beginning to October (already!).

Nice shots all, like the Iceland ones.

And I agree on the expired pola smell!

Couple from me, one indoors on some very expired polaroid 108 from 2000. One with the new IP px600uv+ black and white film at a friends wedding.

jojonas - thanks - this is part of a large area of tidal salt marshes  - the nearest inlet is closeby, even when the tide is out (which it was), but the sea proper is 0.5km away.

So far my fav is the pola bride.  Just something about it makes me smile.
Also fond of Soap's man in the corridor/tunnel.  I adore photos like that.

Sandeha, love your beach shots! And that film did really well in Rodinal. There are lots of specular highlights in your shots but they arent overwhelming and look very nice. I am assuming that's the film/developer at work there?
Grayfish, great texture! Love the camera you used.  ;D
Kayjay, lovely color!
Soap, great shots, especially the last. What is that?
Chaulky, love the bride shot a lot! Very dreamy.
Miller, great color and that blur is to die for! Great camera for the price.
Carlos, beautiful light, color and form. Is that your wife? She has a beautiful body. Makes me long for my youth a little bit.  :)
Diane, wonderful composition and whatever hack you did, WOW!!! It sure works!
J, great capture, especially with the skeleton on the arm.
Sean, very dramatic light in both shots.
Phil, another great shot from Crete. It surprises me to see all the personal belongings left behind. Even shoes!
Charles, WOW!! Great subject matter and the color is to die for! What camera and film?
Karl, such desolation. Great shots!

I finally have something to contribute this weekend. Got my film back from Walmart and I have to say that I am very happy with how they did. They send it out so it takes 2 weeks to get it back but to save 14 dollars, Im willing to live with the wait time. Its 3.22 a roll for color 120 film as opposed to 8 dollars a roll through the other lab I use. I can shoot as much color film as I want to now. This make me very happy!

These shots are from the AV fair. All shot with the Bronica ETRSi on Ektar film. At least I believe it is all Ektar  but I suppose there might be some fuji in there.

Weekend is gaining speed! And a lot of color!

Charles, that picture is like a tale
Erin, Welcome back!!! Yes, that is Beautiful Elena. That second one of yours is fantastic. There must be something with fairs and circus that photographers are attracted to, and I think is not just the color. Welcome back again.
Rpmdrd, good ones. Parks are really lively in the Philippines!
Patrick, that rollei of yours is performing!

These of mine taken with Canon A1 and Kodak Plus 200 This camera is just a breeze to use  ;D

Apart from all the paperwork the French seem to love everything is great. Fresh fruits, fresh vegetables and we did find a good bakery :) And of course, Paris isn't far away (3 hours by TGV). And most importantly my French is good enough for most things (even the France Telecom hotline).

My favourites so far this week...

Sandeha - the quality of light in your 2nd image is beautiful

Phil - a joy to view as always

Charles - this for me is the stand out image so far this week, excellent work

mojave - three great images but no.2 is definitely the one I'd be hanging on my wall

Patrick - another great series, no.3 really stands out

jojonas - just seen that last one of yours... wow!!

Here's a couple I took on my Agfa Isolette last winter at the Dorney Rowing lake (home of next years Olympic rowing). It's hard to think that in less than a couple of months time it'll be like this again... it's currently 29º here in the UK!!

This was a lovely meal, made for me by a friend, recently, who is an amazing chef. Shot with my Yashica 635 on Fujicolour Pro400H (cropped a little after scanning). The light in her dining room that day was really beautiful so I took loads of shots, but it was pushing the Yash a bit much without a flash, as the lens is not so good when wide open.

I especially love the black and white shots in this thread.

Sandeha - lovely texture of the sea in that first one.

grey fish - I love the old boat (good texture again), and I hadn't even noticed the horizon was off until someone pointed it out.

Chalky - that pola of the bride and her bouquet is fab! It really captures my interest.

Diane - I'm a total sucker for old buildings like this... barns, outhouses etc. wonderful. I like the blurred focus in this image too. Looks a bit pinhole.

Paul Mitchell - great subjects and lovely composition. classic b&w shots.

Thanks so much all, and its good to be back Carlos!

Lovely new editions by everybody! Especially Pauls snowy shots and Gregors fence and Carlos' tree and second fishing shot. Really, that second fishing shot reminds me a great deal of a Bresson photo. The difference in size between the two subjects caught in the frame, as well as the truncation of both, and how that relates them in a unique way. Awesome shot!

Test drive of my new Ricoh GR1s.  I like it a lot.  Incredibly fun to use.

Straight cloudy day

Fill flash against strong hard backlight

Dusk, no flash

Night, flash

This girl almost fainted in my arms.  Not exactly, but that's how I'm telling the story.  I was minding my business, secretly taking pics of her, and she turns to me and says, Sir... (I thought she was gonna ask, Were you taking pictures of me?)  And she says, My eyes... I can't see.  I asked if she felt faint because she looked woozy, and she almost fainted and I gave her my arm and walked her over to the steps so she could sit down.  Stayed with her awhile until she felt better.  She was asking me all these questions, like medical questions.  Tried to reassure her about the loss of vision being part of the fainting business.  Best I could do.  Sweet girl.

Night, no flash long exposure

Very Whistful Peter  ;D

Gregor - That Rabbit Proof Fence and Winston Churchill's Specs are just excellent.

Paul M -The tree shadow is dandy.  I have a roll from my Zero to Dev, can't see it being that spectacular in comparison though.  Lovely shot chum.
