Not in shops yet... but it does look mighty good. My guess is they will begin with selling from an online shop like Impossible did.

Yes, they are making great strides and I'm extremely excited about it! Won't be the same as T55, but it looks like a promising b/w neg/pos instant film for 4x5!

On the blog, there is a statement that some have paid cash to pre-order some of this film. It looks good. Maybe a stoopid question but what camera is required to shoot this?

I'm guessing this will fit into the standard type 55 pola back for 5x4? If so, Paul, any 5x4 LF camera with a sprung back is the answer I think.

Are the backs cheap? might be the time to snap one or two up for a profit?

The backs are cheap. The last time I looked, they were going for around 20 to 30 dollars on eBay, usually 25, and there were a ton of them.

If the New 55 comes to market with compatibility for the old 545 backs, you're bound to see them jump back to original price. In an old 2004 Calumet catalog I have, the 545 Pro back was going for 199.00 US$.

I'm currently sizing up a trade for a second-hand Wista 5x4 so, if I can get suitable backs for it, I might well be tempted to give it a go. I don't imagine I'd be pushing a high volume through it but the quality would make it worthwhile from the looks of other 5x4 work I've seen.

My holder arrived this morning. With squeeky clean rollers! Fits fine on the Neretta.

These guys are developing a new Type 55 or whatever Neg/Pos black & white instant film. They seem to be making great strides.

I hope it has the funky edges. To me, the edges were a BIG part of the Type 55 film.

Just picked a 545 back up for a few quid. Anyone have any ideas how to get hold of some of this stuff? Are there enough of us wanting it to put a few quid together into a kitty to buy a wodge of this?

Incidentally, has anyone used the Fuji FP100C 5x4 instant film via a 545 back? I'm thinking about getting some but won't bother if it isn't compatible with that back.

As far as I'm aware to use the 4x5 Fuji you either need a Polaroid 550 back or the Fuji PA-45 holder.

Bugger it. I've just checked and the Fuji stuff is a "pack" rather than single sheets. Hopefully, the new B&W 5x4 instant that's coming out will be single sheet rather than a pack as I'd quite to use a bit of 5x4 instant now that I have a Polaroid 545 back.....

I'm pretty sure you can use this for the Fuji and Kodak quickloads. So, all is not lost - as long as you fancy trying them $:-\$

I picked up a Fuji PA-45 on the bay last night. There were a couple.
