My contribution:As a regular listener to Democracy Now! and a drippy lefty/liberal type to boot I definitely feel pretty lucky every day given how my life equates on paper with those less fortunate. So it's generally a given with me that I'm glad to be alive and that I try and make the most of every day. It's also a given that I'm desperately in love with my kick ass family and enjoy living in a nice house in London and all that stuff.
Nitty Gritty Smile Material:I love this time of year. Phil's already said it and Miles backed him up; autumn, conkers, sunny days with a chill freshness to them...can't beat it in my view. We were picking up conkers like crazy in Battersea park last weekend. They're HUGE this year.
I'm off to Oslo tomorrow for a couple of days to play some quality 'veteran' punk rock for the hippest and most beautiful people in Norway's capital. That can't be bad at my age.
I'm going to be taking my Land Cam and the newly arrived Pentax Espio that a certain Mr Miller tipped me off about on eBay a week ago. £4.74 isn't a bad price for an awesome PnS.
I wrote a song today that I was so proud of, it made me smile for about 4 hours.
I made some hot cross buns yesterday that went down so well that Amy told me I should become a baker. When I explained to her the setup costs for a new business like that she said I should go busking with a bucket to raise money. When I said no-one would give me money just so I could setup a bakery, she said I should lie about what I was collecting for and instead say it was for starving children in Africa
Amy is 6 years old and made the comment in all innocence. I took time to explain it to her, but it still made me laugh.
This evening I told her I was going to Norway tomorrow to 'play guitar'....she told me not to forget the bucket. Seriously.
I love my Les Paul. That makes me happy. So do all of my other guitars. Guitars are great.
I am extremely happy that my next job will be based in London. No long commutes or staying away from the family for the next month. That's good news.
Finally (and BOY could I go on)....I really do want to say that Filmwasters is fun. It makes me smile a lot (and not just when Francois writes 'toilet' and 'log' in consecutive sentences - see above). If it wasn't for you lot it would be nothing. So thanks very much.
