Some truly beautiful images indeed... does anybody know which is the film that now a days resembles the most to Kodachrome...? Just asking... I been trying with some slide films by no good luck so far.

I don't think you'll be able to find anything that matches unless you use the Alien Skin Exposure plugin... very sad.

I get some good results with Fuji Provia 100 ISO...

I was going to say Provia 100 as well.  It has that creaminess and richness of Kodachrome, but of course isn't exactly the same.  It's a lovely film.

I recently tried Provia and Astia and tomorrow I will pick up a roll a Velvia.. so far, far away from Kodacrhome if may I say. Ok, may be trying to recreate the luscious and pompous red and blue colors of Kodachrome is too much, but what I really like are the desaturated, but still rich colors.. which give the shots an amazing retro look. I was looking today at one old shot taken with Kodak Gold 100 and like the look, may be trying with a Kodak Gold 400 or even Kodak Ektar. Yes, may be kodak Ektar. Here two examples, one with Kodak Gold (the sea) and one with Ektar (inside a church).

For me, Kodak Gold has long been an under-rated film. When exposed correctly, it has really great colors. Not too saturated, not too crisp yet not too dull. Just have to avoid underexposing as it tends to turn muddy really fast... granted I don't think I've used non expired film for the last few years

Still, the only way I think it might be possible to reproduce a bit of the old Kodachrome spirit would be to use a negative acceleration process...

A bit like X-pro but with a few more steps that give the image less punchy colors.

I sadly never shot kodachrome :-( looking at these images I'm truly gutted I never had the chance, I have only ever x-pro'd slide film as I can't be bothered with the hassle of finding a cheap and quick e6 lab. Just found out there is a lab in notts that does it so I'm sending my latest roll of velvia 50 shot in my mamiya rb-67 there. We shal see. I would love a rich yet desaturated film like kodachrome. It really does look unique.

hey matt, its a place called simply, Photo Photographic Processing. All the south notts college students use them for E6 work of which my friend was once one so he told them about me.

I've used them for colour printing. Very good, and the owner is a really nice bloke.

cool, how do you get to them exactly because google maps just says it is the castle rock brewery (side note: those guy rock ;-)
