Leon's post about cliches' has prompted this question.

I'm wondering what camera you always go back to as the ultimate favorite?

Be it a toy type camera for effect and creative wonderment, a Point and Shoot for ultra portablility,
or a manual camera for complete control.

My ultimate favorite is an old Crown Graphic. It's big and bulky, but the results are always consistent.

I always end up back with the KOWA 6. Big, bulky and nice results - sometimes

To the extent of sounding ultra-boring, I use 90% of the time my Nikon F-601... Not because it's extra anything but because it's convenient.
But the few times I pull out my Yashicamat, I really enjoy it... Only problem is that 120 film and processing are expensive compared to 35mm (I recently had a deal of not quite expired Kodak 35mm films for 1$ a film... Add 3.99$ processing to it and you have a great deal

In the last couple of years I've used any one of several K-mount Pentax 35mm SLRs as my staple. They break and I buy a new one on evilBay for twenty quid. It's all about the lenses...I have a few now and am sticking with K-mounts. There have been a LOT of other cameras in that time obviously, but those Pentaxes are the ones I go back to time and time again.

Boring choice innit?

I will go with my 5x7 Ansco with a 4x5 back (mine is stained, but this is the same model):

My Holga is a close second. The 'G' on mine has been blacked-out, so I call it the "HOL A"

for over 20 years no-one would have torn me away from my 35mm Nikon's...then last year I tried the Holga which kind of changed my view on things and I found I adore the square format. So for the last few months I have owned the Hasselblad SWC/M and I adore it....I love it's portability, it's wonderfully sharp lens...everything...so that's my baby.

My favourite is my YashicaMat 124G. Especially with stacked red and ND8 filters over the lens to slow the exposure down to 2-3 minutes.

Not only does it give me the results I'm after but it FEELS lovely!

As much as I adore my FlexBody, my numerous Holgas (particularly my newest blue Holgamod from Randy), and my homebrew Hassyphant (recently upgraded to a Hassy 201F body), I keep coming back to my precious, my very first Diana, a Diana Windsor that I long ago dubbed the Princess Di. She's not great on looks, her bulb setting lever is frozen, and the aperture knob is loosie-goosie (gotta carefully take her apart and bring her back to shape one of these days) but she produces the most luscious edge blur I've seen in any plastic camera I've owned. Nine times out of 10, I've always got room in the camera bag for her.

Have two old Nikon F cameras that are my favourites, They are heavy chunky cameras but have 100% viewfinders so what you see is what you get.

Ah yes, my trusty Nikon FM2 when I want some control and my Snappy for a little blur.

I have just bought a Rolleicord TLR with a plate adaptor. It's a beautiful thing and it looks like it may become my new camera of choice.

Hmmm... my 195 does most stuff I need, but if I'm traveling I grab the GR1, and if I'm up to my neck in mess in abandoned buildings, I take The Sub. I've not used my 'Pet in ages too for some reason.

Does that mean I have a problem? I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure...

My current favorite, the one that is always loaded ready to go is the Seagull.

This will probably change in time as I aquire other cameras.

My wish list for now is

Rolleiflex 2.8F
Mamiya 6
any 4 by 5 camera though I can't get film in the Philippines.

My best results recently have come from my Mamiya C330S, but it's not exactly suitable for all circumstances. The camera that's always in my pocket is a Rollei 35S or sometimes a Rollei 35; a delight to use but I'm still in the early slope of the learning curve with these.

If I had to pick one camera and lens for a shoot with no prior information then it'd have to be my Nikon F80 with Nikkor 28-105mm zoom. If ever there was a "one size fits all" rig...!

Sorry. Another amendment; Zorki6 loaded with whatever film comes to hand. fits in my handbag and works - well. Negs are a bit small for my liking but it makes me feel like a photographer when i use it.

Oh, I have now got a 1936 SuperIkonta A that I seem to have won in a forum photo comp. Lovely little camera with a tessar lens. Apparently that's good.
Anyway, here's snap with it on Perutz film. Just seemed like a FWUK image!

Hmm.... it keeps changing. For a while, I wouldn't go anywhere without my favorite Holga (of the 3 I have), but I've been taking a break from it of late. Then I was using my Ansco Super Speedex folder pretty much all the time, but it's been ailing even after a recent repair. I've really been enjoying my Diana+ (yes, I know the evil Lomography). I just got a Pentax 67 that I think will have a frequent position in one of my camera bags on a shoot. But then...I usually take about four cameras with me whenever I go out.

I'd have to say the Olympus XA. It' compact, rugged, and the lens is one of a kind. Plus, the clam shell case is so freakin cute

I'm going to have to be awfully predictable, and risk excommunication, and say my M6. I haven't had it for long and have longed for a Leica for years. And before anyone says, YES I know it's only a light-tight box and if you can't take decent pictures then the red dot doesn't count for anything - but it's made me just want to take photos all over again*.

My Land Camera 320 is such good fun to use, and people's faces still light up when you peel the film apart - even in these digital days.

But the M6 has to have it - even if it's just for the noise when the shutter fires at 1/30.

My favourite pics in the past year have been with my Holga, though I find I only get one or two decent frames from a roll - must try harder!

I've picked up some work lately shooting the dreaded weddings and communions (actual compared to my zzzz IT job I quite enjoy them). For these nothing beats my trusty Nikon F90X - it does nothing wrong in my view, and for only a hundred and fifty quid.

In January I picked up a Mamiya RB67 (E100) whicH I adore as a machine (nothing beats that viewfinder!), but have put to little use so far - I'm a bit intimidated by it, and the shutter doesn't always fire for some reason. That said I do like this, which I took with the Polaroid back and Fuji instant film -

I have 3 - Nikon F3, Ricoh GR1 and Fuji FP-1. At least one of them is always with me!
