Dave! thanks for taking the time to post .. i did get an email from your student, and she said she'd want to ask me some questions, but I didnt hear from her again - I'd love to see her results ... I didnt realise I even had a style to cover!  Hopefully having to emulate me didnt go so far as drinking too much "old fuzzle blurter's grommit" (a popular brew down my way) and owning a cut toe-nail collection going back 35 years (so?  they are part of me, they're like my children) .... ;)

Only kidding :)

I am seriously honoured.

Dont worry about the blunt response (which it isnt btw), I especially chose this picture for that reason to try and generate some discussion - which it seems I have acheived!

now ... art, photography and it's creation - erm, where do I start?  :P

Let's start with the art of photography, where its pwer lies, and what social responsibility do we have as artistic photographers.  That shoudl give us enough to chew on for a while.

I second the suggestion for a new thread. It'd give this worthy topic a properly descriptive title for a start.

If "old fuzzle blurter's grommit" can make me print like Leon, I'll take a keg...or two.  As for the camera, it will only be as creative as you let it.  I can understand wanting to let go...It's kinda like taking a step back when you're working on something.  Sometimes the holga can be too easy, which can translate to getting a little lazy or a little bored.  It's amazing how those things can be translated into how we capture what we see.  It happened to me,  so I went to do some lampwork stuff (FIRE!!!FIRE!!!) instead to take a break visually.  The really neat thing is that when I came back to I had some new ideas to try out.
