Topic: dumbass question re flash....

So Im sure I should know this,  but I dont.....

If I want to use a non hotshoe flash  I think I need to use a PC connector, is that correct?

So I think I just need to buy a PC cord such as this

And i just plug that cord into the PC socket on the camera?lens and the other end onto the hotshoe part of the flash?

Do you mean you camera has a hotshoe adapter and your flash doesn't ?

I have a Rollei with no hotshoe adpater and I use the cable to connect the flash (which has hotshoe) in the camera so I can use as a hand held flash, it works for me. I believe you're doing the same...

Other way around.  Flash has hotshot part, camera doesn't

Exactly like me Damion... my Rollei hasn't a hotshoe adapter and my flash does have. I bought one of those cables and works perfectly for me.

I've got mine from here ... http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=777_1&products_id=7847 mine it's made in Germany and so seems to be this one as well. It's versatile as you can connect the hot shoe in the camera as well in case the camera's hot shoes is not working....
