I know they use something similar in the conservation department of some museums...

I also saw something like that in an old Popular Mechanics book...

Somehow, I find the power connections very "Wile E. Coyote" ... I'd be scared of touching the controls...

That's pretty much what this version would do...

The early ones I saw in the old Pop Mechanics were using vacuum powered windshield wiper motors with a faucet vacuum attachment... these were the really old days!

Somehow, I would have done things a lot differently to avoid putting unneeded stress on the motor.

Well I suppose with Jobos and Drum rollers, it wouldn't be as 'original', sapata... although it would be nice to have something that did a more sporadic and gentle invert so that I could go eat cookies while making fantabulous negatives.  Everybody wins! :)

That's got "wet floor" and "possible electrocution risk" written all over it if I got involved.

Some people (speaking mainly for myself) are just better off using the manual version.  ;D

Well, there was also the Patterson Orbital Processor... which I tried imitating using an old record player. The wood disk has some rubber bumpers to keep the tank at an angle. The multiple holes are to prevent the tank from flying off the High quality "made in the UK" precision turntable...

I should add this was an early college build... ugly but working.

I never tried it for developing though... but it fixes good though.

Not anymore... I ripped the arm off...
But it does dance like crazy when I put it on 78rpm :)
