I received an awesome print by none other than the uber talented Susan B.
I am beyond words excited and thrilled to have it , so I'm just jumping up and down like a kid with a new bike.

It's the ultra cool shot shown here:

Great image Becky...my you are very lucky. I have to say the suspense is killing me.....I'm finding that gin or the smell of film is the only thing that calms me.

My print arrived today, it was from very talented David Bennett AKA Davidb. My god it is wonderful  :) it is a Platimum/Palladium print and it is so beautiful. I have made an attempt at cpying it for you all to drool over, unfortunately I don't have a scanner so I have had to photograph it to get it up here. I think you'll all agree it is stunning! It was nearly a didaster as the Post Office bless their hearts decided to roll it even though it said  do not bend....luckily no creases and it has flattened a treat. Now off to the framers as this needs to be on my wall!

Thank you David.....I love it.  :)

Sorry to report this, but I'm having problems.

I'd earmarked this weekend for a major printing session. Then the power went out before I arrived home from work on Friday evening. It stayed out until the early hours, came on briefly and then went off again on Saturday afternoon without warning, again until the early hours. It's back on now but only because there's a generator truck from United Futilities sitting on the corner of my street.

My weekend is shot to blazes and I'm way behind on just about everything. I'm really sorry to the organisers and my recipient, but I'm afraid I'm going to be late with this one.   :-[

No problems Frank. I think we can file this under Mitigating Circumstances :)

Hope it all gets sorted very soon - power cuts stink.

I got Ron's fabulous print today--beautifully packaged, like a real present!
It's a still life taken with an Ansco 5x7 view camera.  The negative is a Type 55 polaroid.
The print is on Centennial Printing-out-paper and toned in gold. Wow!
Thanks Ron!
Best,
Aline

In the past I used to exchange photographic postcards with fellow photographers around the world. Over a year or two I amassed a wonderful collection of  small photographic prints including traditional fibre based, RC prints and even a  number of small 5*4 platinum  and  palladium prints.  The most exciting and enjoyable part of collecting these prints was the surprise of arriving home and  finding  a beautiful print among the mail.

That was a few years ago now but it all came flooding back yesterday  when I  received a beautiful print from fellow filmwaster  Leon.  It's a harbour scene of resting boats which are bathed in  beautiful light  and a wonderful sky overhead with some really well defined clouds adding a little bit of drama.  A  really fine  print I will enjoy and treasure.  Thanks Leon.

There has been some really fine work posted here over the last few weeks, as well as receiving prints its such a pleasure viewing so many quality images.

Well I received the most magnificent image from Dave, on Saturday. It is too large for my scanner. But here is a link to it:

Castle Stalker, taken with a Yashicamat & Delta 100 film .
The web image doesn't do it justice  :)
Thank you very much!

I shipped mine out yesterday, priority mail. I hope it is received in time. The weather in the Northern US, may be a challenge :(

Just got a great print from Eddie Mallin. What makes it even better for me is that I am not a fan of infa-red images - never really seen any that I feel have been enhanced by it but then of course it is just my taste - or lack thereof! However, the print has great detail and atmosphere and the horse just appears 3D - well chuffed!

My image on the way to the USA tomorrow morning!

Print Exchange Update >>>>>>>+++++++
« Reply #74 on: February 16, 2007, 10:20:05 AM »
ok everyone - deadline is this coming monday.

There are 11 prints that have been confirmed as recieved by the recipients.  that leaves 9 more to go.  I know a few have stated theirs are in the post or have let me know difficulties they are experiencing.

I wont start up a round 2 until they are all received or accounted for - if you are having difficulties in honouring your part of the exchange - please let me know ASAP (a pm will be fine) so I can advise your recipient. Please do get in touch with me - having been not sent prints in exchanges before, I know exactly how frustrating it can be to deliberate over sending out a print then get nothing in return.  Although, of course youare all just late in sending out, none of you are considering sending nothing .... right :P ?

Just remember Every Good Boy Deserves Fruit .... no, hang on that's something to do with the treble cleff  .... erm, Every Good Deed Deserves Another (that's better)

I received a wonderful print from Rebekah Pope.  It is beautifully printed and just lovely.  She sent it to me very early on in the exchange and I found out she lives only a few hours away.  :)

I sent my print across the pond 2 weeks ago tomorrow.   I hope that it will be received properly.

I'm beginning to fret that my print is lost or somehow landed on a slow boat rather than a fast plane.  :-[

Or maybe they thought it was cheese rather than a print in customs. ???

I picture my package, so carefully wrapped, floating along the sea.  Drifting and drifting.  Then, suddenly the song "Sea of Love" by the Honeydrippers comes to my mind, and then I can't get the tune out of my head.

So, my deepest apologies to my print recipient, and well, when you get this thing, if you could let me know before I'm totally bald and this Honeydrippers song has made my mind insane, I would much appreciate it.

come with me... my love, to the sea, the sea of love.  blah blah blah blah blah blah.....

Ok sorry for that.   I'll be quiet now.

Tammy

it's not hugely past 2 weeks yet Tammy - give it a bit longer, then  you can start singing!  I once sent a camera to the states that I sold on FeePay - it took three months to get there!

Great... I'm having Al Pacino / Ellen Barkin flashbacks now!  ::)

Still, could be worse. I could have thought of Al Pacino / John Goodman!  :)

Sounds like everything went really well. From the looks of it, some really wonderful work has been exchanged. I was originally hoping to be part of Round 1 but too many things were going on for me to commit. Now that everything's on an even keel (more or less), I'll definitely be jumping feet first into Round 2.

Those who have sent but havent heard if the print has been recieved, please contact your person directly.

Thanks very much
