Ok, so I'm not going to do any developing today as this is the state of our water supply following the thaw and a heavy rain-storm last night :-(

Here's a few old kodachrome slides (from 1987) that I scanned yesterday. Kinder Scout and Bleaklow, taken using my trusty old Rollei B35

I cleared a bit of a backlog last week so I can now bring you snowy, frosty and foggy over the coming weeks. It was nice to able to go out and photograph it rather than just drive through it on the way to work! All taken on my EOS5 with Tri-X.
First up snowy:

love the snow shots and really like Mojave's lone cactus.

Here's mine, shot and dev'd yesterday.

I need to work more on my C-41 developing to avoid the streaks.
On the up-side, my house doesn't smell like fixer!
Shot with a Holga WPC, an uber wide pinhole that I adore.

I like the streaks Becky. It reminds me of expired 669 (?) pola. Colors are very similar. Such an awesome shot and just one more reason why I know I have to look into those pinhole Holgas.

Lots of scanning, some more from my trip to the fields when I was interfered with by a nutter.  These were taken with my first ever Camera, a 70's Zenit E but with a 28mm Chinon lens I recently got rather than the usual Helios, (except the pinhole at the end of course).  FP4+ and Dev in Infosol 3.

Great start!

So far these got my attention:

Mojave lonely tree-bush with those strange Impossible Project artifacts  ::) has a great mood
Miller engine reminds me of a cubist paint with those yellow dots..
Walter fine tonal range
Becky, are those birds for real or did you put them there?  8)
Love the last one Miller

I do find these weekend threads are a great way for the forum to socialise. It's like catching up with the past week over a coffee. Wonderful. Even better is that I have one to share this weekend too. I'm hoping it's just the right side of 'inpenetrable'. I'll revist the subject when there's more light. This was shot in very, very low light on Polacolor 125i (hence the green/yellow cast) and my land Cam 360.

Erin, I really dig what is going on with this shot!

Miller, very cool! You gotta love the MKI GT and I'm old enough, unfortunately!

Miles, a beautiful series. Where were they taken, I have a sense of having been there?

Calbisu, I love the mood of the first one; it feels like a still from a film, the movement really makes it.

Ed, very cool, love it!

This thread seems to be developing a desolate landscape theme that I like.  (Loving the graphic quality of Harvey's snowscapes.) Thanks to Windy's bad water I guess, for starting us on a theme. I find myself anticipating the latest from Calbisu's Bhutan trip each week.  Thematically, the best I can do is post a snow shot from our latest nor'easter on Tuesday.  And I can't help thinking there's a punch line to follow the phrase "dog in my groundglass"

Thanks all for the wonderful comments!

Miles, lovely landscapes. I am in love with the last shot. I love abstracts and this one is fantastic! Very dark and mysterious.

Carlos, Love them both! Both so very different in light and mood and both very emotive. Is that a word?  ???

Ed, amazing! And well worth the wait to see some of your work. Very moody and the color adds a new depth to the work that is very surprising.

Pdewolff, great shots! The dog is my favorite!

Terry, I heard about that storm. Glad you survived it and got a great shot out of it. I have never seen bicycles in snow before.

Hi all,

I'm trying different films in the Beseler to see what they offer.  This is T-Max100 with a nice sharp negative, and the results on paper were quite good, although the upper left is not as sharp as other areas, so perhaps the lens board needs alignment?

Lensboard, baseboard, surfboard, I don't know  :-)

I don't have a manual so I'll have to dig one up on line and figure out how to make these types of adjustments.

J_Warden - sorry, reading back, my reply was a bit flippant.  I meant to say that sometimes it's easier to align the baseboard or easel plane with the lens panel rather than mess around with the lens panel adjusters.  All that matters is the lens, negative and paper are parallel.

No worries Leon, I didn't take it as a flippant response.  I'm a beginner and need to learn the parts and how to adjust them so I appreciate the advice.  I'll start measuring and see where I'm off.

Diane--I'm thinking what a classic Western storefront that is.  Downright iconic and, of course, it needs to be a lonely outpost in the plains to complete the statement.  I guess the little wire teepee was meant to look like a Christmas tree when it lights up.  It gives a note of sadness to the whole thing doesn't it?  Love the way you're telling a story with this...

Diane - two lovely images, I particularly like the first one.

On Monday I stopped by the Sikh Temple just being finished a couple of miles from my house. It's an amazing building, the trouble was the wind was so strong it was all I could do to hold my Lubitel still. I'm planning to go back soon with my new Manfrotto tripod on board.

Nigel, that´s an impressive place!!

This week I have been shooting some Fuji 3000B. first time I used it. Pitty it cannot be propperly bleached.. Still it offers shuch a versatility.

The boxer I found him at the Park. He was training some youngs of the neighbourhood. Mr Tyson of the Philippines he named himself. It was a nice chatting. By the way, I am improving at shooting at people. This time I told him, please can you move here, can you position yourself on Guard? Then I moved until the back gate was over him... Elena tells me that whenever I start shooting at new places and people I get over enthusiastic and moving all around...

It can be bleached, however the results will be more in tune with a paper negative for darkroom use. 3000b tends to solarize less than 100b from my experiments.

Nice shots BTW.

Woah, how do you compete with that little lot...??

Windy - superb dog shot and Kinder Scout frozen is an awesome place
Harvey - beautiful snow scenes. Excellent grain - feels super-cold
Mojave - "alone" is perfect for this. Gorgeous colours and feel to the image
Miller - my dad had a Cortina in '66, tho' not the GT version. Great shot.
Walter45 - my fave is the 2nd shot of the mail boxes. Superb toning.
Astrobeck - those crows are hilarious
Miles - nice! Best one, for me, is the 4th.
Calbisu - two very different images. The 2nd is a true gem.
Ed - that is going to give people nightmares  ;)
pdewolff - superb dog shot
Terry - love the bikes. Like to see someone try riding in that much snow...!
Diane - just a stunning shot.

My shots are a bit of a mish-mash of recent work I've just got round to scanning...

Hi Diane.

The alley isn't really that mysterious. At the end of the alley is a pub called the Cross Keys which serves a very nice pint....!! ;)

It was probably the first outing for my Hasselblad Zeiss 40mm Distagon CF T* FLE lens - which despite the rain and the slow, hand-held shutter, seems to have created quite a punch shot - if not universally razor sharp.
